I really like the green. Might be the first GMK set I get if I don't get Chocolatier :)

You should definitely get Chocolatier though. ;)

I'm not liking that color scheme, but I got to admit it would fit perfectly well on the forthcoming RAMA TKL.

random question, why are all the spacebar kits for 1.25, 1.75, 2.25, 2.75 concave?  Clearly convex can be done in smaller keys because they're available for 1.0 and 2.0

My goal still is a sub 100 USD core kit, and not a lot of kits. I think that's how GMK sets should be.

Since this has been pitched as a Massdrop set, it will be most likely after Samurai Blue.

Still, I will insist on how crucial voting on Massdrop is, this isn't an meaningless poll for a set already scheduled to drop in about a month.

GMK sets are considered as a "Massdrop made" product, and those are Massdrop exclusive.

I'll probably tweak the kits in a similar way I did with Jamón. If you want to complain about them or have some feedback, now is probably the best time to do it.

I wasn't interested in Jamón so I hadn't been following it but I took a peek and I like it. My only minor complaint would be the splitting of the numpad from the main kit but I get the reasoning and I'll cope with it. :)
Are you going to offer a r0/r5 add-on? I can't remember if I saw it mentioned here or in Jamón.

Thanks!

Yes. These kits were designed back in August, those keys weren't available at the time. New kits will be similar to GMK Jamón I will update them some time soon, or whenever I have time to.

Hey Zambumon,

I'm really liking the kit updates for Jamon and love that you are wrestling your vision for products and pricing into reality.  Assuming from the Jamon update that you're taking all accents out of the core and into a separate kit to keep the core cost as low as possible:

I'd love to see a combined accent/novelty pack that's as afforable as possible.  Judging by the $35 quoted on the Massdrop Nautilus Nightmares voting page, I imagine this will be quite difficult.
(As an aside and and slightly related - Without knowing cost yet, it may too expensive for me to pick up both Jamonelties and Pata Negra).

Here's what I would hope see in the kit:

Esc, Enter, and Arrow key accents (don't see the arrow cluster in the kits or renders - are they being left out? Also, keep the numpad accents in the numpad kit).
A mixture of Novelties.  Ideally I'd like some 1.50 Code or Fn keys if they're not going to be in the core, but if this significantly increases the cost maybe it's better I make do with the non-specific icon novelties you've already shown.

In my case, I use a funny layout these days for my bottom row (alt, fn, fn, os).  Novelties or just having key legends that don't match my particular usage scenario is probably preferable to an increase in price that would turn me away.

One last thought:  Do you have interest in using Alt Gr legend?

I plan to have two novelty kits: one of them a small accent kit (with Escape, Enters, and arrows), and the other one the novelties. Disregard the $35 quote because that's a guesstimate for its pricing at 150 orders, not a real quote.

I also want to avoid making any "alternate layout" kit because those do not work that well with GMK and it's easier to offer a novelty kit.

Alt Gr looks fancy, but it should be included only if you have terciary legends, since this set doesn't have them I did not include it.

Assuming that you're going to replicate the current kits used for Jamon, I think the 40s/split kit needs to keep the 1u R1 Backspace key and would really like to see a 1u R3 Caps or Lock key included though I recognise that's unlikely. If not then would like to see a R3 1u novelty included in the novelty kit as an alternative. Looking forward to picking this set up!

I guess there's an R1 delete key in the base set, but I agree that it would be nice for the 40s kit to have a R1 Backspace to support 5-row ortho boards like the Preonic, Nyquist, Iris, etc.

For the caps, worst case there's a R3 Code key in the base set, but that would also be nice to have in order to make this a fully compatible ortho kit too. I think those two keys are all that's missing to support those larger ortho boards. I guess those aren't 40s really but it could be a 40s/split/ortho kit!

I'd like to see dark gray highlight keys in the 40s kit (similar to Jamón). I think you hinted that you would do this anyway.

I'm also a fan of the larger spacebar kit that you currently have on the Nautilus Nightmares page, but I'm not overly attached to that and I could definitely believe that the price would be a good reason to shrink it for a majority of people. Would be nice to leave a blank R4 1.25 somewhere in either the 40s kit or the spacebars kit.

Other than that though, no complaints. I think you absolutely nailed the kits with Jamón. The flexibility and coverage is simply incredible and it sounds like the pricing will be too!

But the real question is: where is the Nautilus Nightmares matching Percebe? :p
