looks like MiMiC cable wont happen as part of the GB but if you still want one just contact him direct for one or fill out his form in his thread, links are in a note in the OP

From looking at the PCB I don't think it's possible, but if I missed it, is adding leds to certain keys supported and if so could you do that?

you can have leds in caps lock and scroll lock if you dont want the ones in the normal Filco positions.

Corrected some formatting of the OP and added a note about ordering a few extra switches when you order.

Will you also offer custom springs and switch stickers? That would be awesome!

If I only order some parts, no full assembly, will you still do the Cherry stabilizer mod for example?

And how about if I would want both LED spots populated (Filco style + in switch, total of 4 LEDs), could you offer the parts for that too?

I have no source of custom springs or stickers

I can do the cherry stab mod theres also a good video about it up on GH some where (try the KMC DITY thread [not my build log thread])

with the wiring of the phantom board you cant have both spots populated but we do offer different colors leds and their matching resistors

I thought I've read it somewhere that it is possible if you use a third resistor. Have to look that up again...

Edit:
Found it in the DT Thread for the Phantom.

Question: is it possible to have LEDs both in the switches and between the six pack and Pause/Printscreen/Rollen keys? :)

Yes. It's definitely possible. I think you need 3 resistors, instead of 2, though. If I remember correctly, the Scroll Lock shares a resistor between the key light and the case light, but the Caps Lock has a separate location for the resistor used by the key light that is next to the switch.
Quote from: fruktstund
And thank you very much gimpster, tried it out, and it did work! I just soldered 3 resistors on because it seemed right, so I don't have any idea if it would work with only two, but I think not.

ok well there are 3 resistor positions and 4 leds so you have to figure out the circuit that has 2 leds in it and see how it wired once that firgure out the correct resistor could be selected but to mu understanding the boar was never meant to run 4 leds at the same time.

the boar ? :D

Don't know about 4 LEDs but it can run a monkey.

LEDs do not have a resistance rating on it, so one resistor to control the current supplied to the LEDs are more than enough.
You can consider using a lower rated resistor to adjust the brightness among the LEDs you wanna add in.

What matters is if their wired in series or parallel. As that will control if its possible and what resistor to use.

Prof,

Are the only cases you're offering going to be the PLU's?  I need two cases, but I don't like the PLU's.

In another thread you mentioned you were interested in a stainless case but that no one designed it and it would be expensive.  I'd buy one if you can make it happen.  I'm sure at least a few more people would jump in as well.

Out on GH forum and it will probably be a groupbuy. Out this week means that they will announce more details and information sometime in the coming 7 days.

Welcome to the hobby. For perspective, the R4 GB if including interest check is coming up on 1.5 years soon. A few months for a solid case to have for such a sweet board is a small price to pay.

That said, this is TPs thread for building phantoms so let's not crap it up.

regarding the Cherry Stabilizers, is there a difference for ANSI/ISO or does it work for both? Or is everything included for both perhaps.
And the same question about the spacebar sizes :)

With the PCB GB being closed I am not sure what else I need to order in a GB separate from this. I need a plate from WhiteFireDragon's GB as well right?
And then I only need to participate more in this GB and in a GB once someone makes a decent looking case to replace the PLU-87?

I'm kinda lost on building designing my own keyboard.. I'm not even sure which layout I want it to have but I kinda like the one without the windowskeys but there's no case to make this look nice..

I have another question regarding the Cherry stabilizers you will offer.
Quote
Cherry Stabilizers: $8 per set (will outfit a standard TKL keyboard)
Does "standard TKL" mean there will be only 6.25x spacebar stabilizers? Or will I be able to choose in the ordering for if I want a Cherry kit with 6.25x or 7x spacebar stabilizer?

OK, and how will it work with the plates exactly?

I understand that you will offer the ones being discussed in WFDs IC thread. Will your GB be the only spot to order those plates or will we be able to order them from WFD himself directly, too?

I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I don't know what the following options are:
  • LED and Resistor Swap
  • Black or Clear Spring for Spacebar: $0 (free) per phantom
  • Cherry Stabilizer Mod: $0 (free) per phantom

May I buy a clue?  ;)

1. If you want to use a different LED color than the white LEDs supplied. Different LEDs have different voltages, and so require different resistor values.
2. Sometimes you want your spacebar to have a stiffer spring than the rest of your switches. For instance, if you have a board with reds, you want a black spacebar spring to provide more resistance.
3. Cherry stabilizers can feel mushy to some people. There is a mod where you clip a piece of the stabilizer insert to make it feel less so.
