Good Morning Geekhack,

Today I wanted to introduce you to my latest idea, GMK Deepwell!
A set inspired by Honeywell but with richer colors and a little sci fi inspiration for the kit names and deskmats!

Pricing

Colors
The colors are all custom RAL colors, the red is a deeper red than anything GMK offers for stock colors, it's definitely in between RO1 and RO2.
The white is a more pure white somewhere in between WS1 and WS2.
The dark grey is a color that’s right in between CR and N9 it’s not as dark as CR and not as light as N9! It's a very charcoal colored grey.

Changes currently applied since beginning of IC:

(11/16/2020)
- Adding the 2" keys to both base kits for UK ISO
- Adding 6.25u & 7u red bars to the Outer Space Kit
- Removing R1 End & R1 PgDn from Void Kit
- Adding Mod Colored Numpad Enter to Interstellar Kit
- Changed deskmat images to be less busy

- Removal of the Petals from the base kit
- Removal of the black bars from the Spacebar kit
- Adding an additional 3u white bar to the spacebar kit for double 3u compat.

Perfect implementation of Honeywell in Cherry profile's curves IMO.

And I am glad you haven't add 40% kit. Don't get me wrong, but I think that decision not to go with it in your own sets is right.

Please consider adding R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn to both kits, for covering modern 65% and 75% layouts. Although there are a few more minor tweaks that I would make, I think that this change would be the most beneficial with how the kits are currently set up.

Nice! Particularly like the dark version; I've been thinking about designing something similar for a while as Burgundy was just a little too bright for me.

My only criticism would be that the custom white is probably unnecessary as it will increase cost and colour-matching time for very little difference in the final project.

Sorry, the goal of the Void kit was to be a smaller base that still kept the vibe of the theme, it was never the main goal of the set. There will not be a numpad for the kit. Sorry!

Any chance of having an EU vendor (I mean, from the European Union) for this set? I really loved GMK Fundamentals, but I decided to not join because the european vendor's is from the UK and on 2021 I'd have to pay tax for it.

No vendors have been announced yet for this set. Just because Fundamentals only had a UK vendor doesn't mean all my sets are going to be like that. My next set running KAT Crusader has Mykeyboard.Eu as the EU vendor. I'll take everything into consideration when contacting vendors for this set.

The keyset from the C70 was a bit of inspiration for the set, while C70 used all gmk stock colors, I have worked to use custom RALs that are not the same as the stock colors for the Interstellar kit.

I've always thought Honeywell looks great and the deep red in this set reminds me a bit of Hal. Especially the Void colorway.

I like this a lot! I'd buy the lighter base kit n' extension kit; plus 2 deskmats at least. The darker red, crisp white n' nice charcoal are what makes this kit, imo.

Thank you everyone for the kind words! The feedback on this set has been phenomenal! I will look over everything that everyone is asking for, so far it's not too many changes, the main one is for the Shields Deskmat, I've gotten a lot of comments asking for a dark version of it! Along with some accent colored arrow keys in the base kit. Everything will be taken into account and I will adjust accordingly to make sure that everything is affordable!

They are not, those colors are all stock GMK colors, these are all custom RAL colors. The set will look different from the C70 keyboard keyset.

I am also proud to announce that we will be moving the Void kit to it's own keyset, GMK Void, I will be working on better compatibility for it along with some kits for it on its own and will be running that a few months after GMK Deepwell ends so the wait between them won't be that long!

Hmmmm, I do like me some War Of The Worlds. I'll take your idea into consideration! It does seem like there is interest in novelties!

As for a small update for vendors, zFrontier joins the roster for Asia and CN, I'm working with possibly getting a SEA vendor to finish off all the regions around the world.

Small update for this set! Novelties are being worked on and will be revealed at the proper time. I've been traveling a lot for work and haven't had time to talk to the other designers of the set, now that I am back at home that will change and we will start getting the ball rolling to release more information for the set! Can't wait to run this in May!

Good Afternoon everyone! I was planning on posting these updates last night but unfortunately my GTX 1080 died. In more exciting news we’ve been working on adjusting the deskmats and working on kit changes. Today I have for you the deskmat changes along with another new mat, To the Stars! I also wanted to announce that the Group Buy will be starting on May 1st, 2021.

Be on the look out for the final update with kit changes along with an addition of a Novelty kit! Hope everyone has a nice Easter weekend!

As GB is very close, I don't think any changes are possible at this stage, right? If there's still a chance, I would love to see a R3 pipe key in base so the base kit can support both US and UK ISO, and those 4 R1 1u novelties should cover the nav column in 65/75s layout...

really nice to see this set evolving. will void use the same "new" red color? also, i appreciated the "deep" part of "deepwell" being a deeper/darker red as a play on honeywell. a bit sad to see it change. that said, glwgb!

I think the brighter red is a bad move aesthetically, and really changes the feel of the set. But if others disagree so be it!

I agree with the above posters — the new red is a step backwards for me, it's too bright. It looks brighter than normal Honeywell red.

I can't like the new red color, it looks too bright compared to the other colors. The previous RAL was much better.

I agree with my fellow keeb lovers. The original red was a better shade, duller and more in keeping.

Y'alls voices are heard loud and clear. I'm working to adjust this back to the original red. Apologies for the original change. It was something I wanted to test out, glad we are able to get feedback on it this quick. It shouldn't effect quote costs either since the kitting isn't changing, just the color!

The modifier color has never changed! It's still the same RAL since the beginning, it'll have a charcoal grey look to it.

If it is pink/purple I would prefer it to be just white in keeping with the set.

It’s def meant to be white infill, as it would be similar to the white legends of the set, all renders for RAMA caps are done by Kata over at RAMA Works so maybe there was a slight mistake in the color for the infill. I’ll talk to her today and see if there was a mistake in the color I gave her for the infill. 😅

Edit: Upon further inspection I’ve discovered that the Pantone color I sent to her was the wrong color. I’ve emailed her to correct the issue and will update when the change is made!
