I know Realforce PBT keycaps is one of the most raved PBT around.
BUT I don't know, I find it too smooth. So smooth it almost feels like ABS with shine. >____>
Maybe I like my PBT with textures. Anyone else feels the same?
Haha I almost feel like this could belong in the unpopular opinion thread.

I actually was thinking today about how they feel "too" smooth... I like how MX PBT you can feel the texture.

Yeah I feel the same, 3rd party Cherry MX PBT usually have nice texture to them.
Here's another unpopular opinion, I kind of like rubberized keycaps. Like the ones found on backlit ABS keycaps. :P
i feel no difference between cherry pbt, cherry ds, topre pbt, abs, or any other plastic.
Actually I do admit Cherry ABS and Topre PBT feels pretty similar, they all fall under the "too smooth" category.

I still think Realforce PBT is one of the best stock caps out there.

I also like texture on my caps. I also don't like how, the black PBT keys from the real force, pick up the oils from your fingers very easily.

I only like the new 1.5mm Leopold PBT, otherwise it's POM all the way baby!

I'm on mobile so images are hard (see link below), but I'm confused. Why is everyone saying the caps are smooth? Mine have very visible texture and feel great. They feel about the same, if not less smooth, as GMK caps.

So you have RF right? And the spacebar is ABS so it is shining..and you're saying they look and feel the same to you? For sure they do not...or else you wouldn't even notice the shine...
Not saying you have to like the RF PBT set...fair enough if you don't like it...but a bit confused as to your comparison..and what are you comparing it to PBT wise that you like better?

Hmmmm maybe I've used Type Heaven and Leopold FC660C and if you compare them directly. The above 2 have more pronounced textures compares to the Realforce set.
In the Cherry world I've used the imsto PBT and Poker II PBT, both also have more pronounced textures.

I like smoother keys myself. my only pbt set are thick cherry I got from feng. I always seem to go back to my stock oem filco keys. Been itching for a hhkb for awhile thougo and it's good to hear this cause I may really like realforce pbt =)

LOL me too, I find I'll keep buying and trying new keycaps but I always seems to go back to my OEM Filco keycaps.
Although I'm typing on my Realforce now. I wonder if the keycaps are sprayed with a protective layer and maybeeeeee that's what's making it feel slippery.

Of course not. Different people like different things.
Personally I like them. That said, I never cared as much about keycap material as a lot of other people here on the board do. It is true that they do not feel as rough, and are slightly smoother than most of the PBT sets out there. Personally, that is something I like.
