Super cool! Is there any chance of a HHKB-like top with a 1.25u blocker on the left corner?
Good layout. As a left thumb space user, I appreciate the larger 2.75u space key being on the left side; however, you might want to support the inverse option as well for people who prefer to input space with their right hand.
Also, any chance that centered stem 6u space could be supported instead of (or at least in addition to) off-centered?

The bottom row is already swiss cheese. The current space configurations has the intentions of centering the split bar at G & H and I will not be adding the reverse.
Off centered 6u saved some area of the bottom row.

I figured as much. Alright, that's reasonable. Personally, I don't mind; I'm glad to see that 2.75u+2.25u won out this time around.
Follow-up question: status LEDs in the vertical 0.5u space above the arrows, ŕ la Volcano660 (oh, and 45-ATS too I guess)?
Follow-up question: status LEDs in the vertical 0.5u space above the arrows, ŕ la Volcano660 (oh, and 45-ATS too I guess)?
RGB LED's reside under/between the Esc-Q-W keys with a small hole in the plate for the led to shine through. Please read under Board Details

Interesting. Any particular reason why you decided to go that route instead of topside indicator LEDs like on the 45-ATS? I think the latter would look nicer and cleaner on this board as there would be no light bleed around the keycaps. Also, it would make it easier to tell which LEDs are on at a glance, I think. To me, those LEDs on the Minivan feel like an afterthought.

I think that LED holes here wouldn't be as clean as the aesthetic I'm going for. The underglow LED's like on the minivan can be different colors upon different actions and there are 3, so you should have no trouble identifying the actions.
Not a fan of the artisan layout choice. If you could switch the $1213 artisan spot with a $1150 artisan spot so us non-fatcats could afford to fill it out i'm in.I saw this a few times but didn't care but all of sudden became very curious.

My problem with that is that I don't want to use multicolored indicators if I'm going for a clean aesthetic. For example, if I put Apollo on a black Adélie like in your renders, I wouldn't want to use red or green LEDs as that would just look bad. And if the colors are all the same, the LEDs being under the keys makes it harder to tell at a glance which ones are on. Not to mention that it hardly screams “premium”.
Have you considered microperforations for the indicator holes? They look clean and are pretty much invisible when the LEDs are off. I think they would be a good match for this design.Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/llrn6PP.jpg)
I am typing on a volcano right now, I know what they look like. Pretty much, and actually invisible are a bit different. I'll consider it if it's something I regret at the proto phase, but at the moment this is where I'm going with this.
Soooooooo... I guess I'm the only one who looked at the logo this way huh?

Perfect for a keyboard bottom, surely?
Very interested, even though I've never gone under 65% before. I love the black and chrome!
Any update on whether it will be VIA configurable, and ESD?
I don't know how to quote, but I agree with konstantin's sentiment that multicoloured indicator lights wouldn't really suit colour-themed builds, unless you can configure the colours. I'd prefer separate indicator lights than underglow.
Only bonus would be hotswap but that would probably reduce layout compatibility. Very keen to see it progress!
necessary buy? necessary buy.
I type pretty comfortably on my little orthos and the main thing stopping me from going after any of these cute layout miniboards is the omission of all the alphas (besides number row). But sometimes I wish my planck could just have t nav arrows and a couple extra keysfor things I don’t want to waste time hitting function layers for. You nailed all that crtieria, but then add gaskets, stagger, separated cluster aesthetics... I’m in.
That red color choice is ridiculously appealing!
I am definitely following this, just need to look for some $1213 and $583 artisans now.

Does the dollar amount mean anything?

look at the layout diagram ;)
So good
Are the cases polished?

In theory there were going to be Chrome PVD Brass but we're working on getting some quotes to see about polished Stainless Steel. Stay tuned!

This will be sick! Stainless steel might be more cost-efficient and more easy to achieve I think. I am totally done with PVD'ing large items.
fortunately the exposed portion of the weight is flat and of small surface area. Unlike many weight designs that feature a large rectangle, only the penguin peaks through. Similar to the Think you put on my shelf :)So good

Super Excited for this! Missed the 45 ATS. Hopefully I can get in on this one. Keep up the good work Abec!
Love it, looking forward to the prototypes. ?/ and "' keys missing from sub 60s have been killer for me so this is great.
This layout and whole style of the board is really cool!
Contrary to many I' coming from much much smaller layouts, but really love this one!
Compliment! Hope one would be affordable to have in Italy! :)
I understand the issues that the COVID situation has brought to chinese manufacturing, but I'm curious if the prototypes have been delivered or even made yet.
Any option to get encoder-compatible PCB?
Really nice work! * almost * makes me want to go <60 but ima hold out for the numrow and hope for VIA.

Any update on the proto? Quite excited to see how this one turns out
Love the layout of this. I was a big fan of the 45-ATS and this one looks super good as well, definitely interested.
Might I suggest Daily Clack as a vendor for Aus/Oceania? :)
Any update on GB timing? Also, any chance for hotswap?

In the works, just needs finishing and anodizing. :) Hoping to have some streamers build the protos.

GB hopefully this summer, as for hotswap, probably not.

Thanks for your quick reply. Excited for this board. If you are at all considering it, I would definitely pay extra for hotswap.
Also, what are you thinking regarding a GB limit? I hope it isn't impossible to buy.

It's not going to be a super hard limit. Looking to be 200 worldwide but still TBD

If PCB is not fixed in terms of design (I presume it from "probably" not hotswap), is it possible to add support for rotary encoderin a top right corner? Just a footprint on PCB, no need to alter the top case or plate, so it would be buyers choice between installing switch or encoder and his headache to source the compatible knob.
Ahhh I see you forgot a zero...
Really interested in this! Would it be possible to mix and match the different side weights with different case colors when the GB runs or will they come bundled together?
Any thoughts on polycarbonate with the same sandblasted copper / brass accents as the e-white?
Really interested in this board. Having a full home row and brackets with the primary layer alphas is nice. I've seen few other boards I've liked in the 40-50s range but they would require some serious remapping of very commonly used keys. Not sure I'm ready to make that kind of commitment yet.
This would be a great, classy alternative. nice work.
Polycarbonate is not in consideration at this time. Sorry.

No worries! Helps narrow the choices to that Red or E-White...or the Navy...
Possibly my favorite under 60% keyboard yet.
saw this board from Minterly stream, and I am in love with this board.
It was part of a 12 hour charity stream and it doesn't look like the standalone clip captured the build, just the completed project.saw this board from Minterly stream, and I am in love with this board.
Sorry I'm a dinosaur and struggle to navigate Twitch. Could I trouble someone for a link to that?
Incredible design by the way! Really looking forward to the group buy.

Brilliant. Thanks for that!
A very nice review Minterly made for us!
Interested, will hope to get on this.
Question though, regardless of your profession or whatever, isn't it important to have numbers important? Surely for instance, you'd want to type numbers in google for instance. Unless there is some programming feature I'm unaware of for a board like this. Otherwise, great looking board.
Actually, talked to Cannon Keys today and based on when these next protos are coming in, it is possible that this board may run near the end of September!

Wow dude that is exciting stuff!
Im fully down for one of these.
Just wondering if there might be scope for a padded case finding it's way into the GB offerings?
is there any prototype available for the finishing?
Really enjoyed the build stream. Fingers crossed that I can get in on the GB. Abec, am I right in guessing that the blue is your favorite color of the bunch?
Limited, numbers will be announced later. Expected around 200 total boards.

It's not really 202C anymore but there will be irl photos of the boards before GB of what the red does look like.
The blue will be exactly what was on Minterly's stream

Hey everyone so I spent a ton of time today putting together protos for pictures.

I'm a little bit confused, for the white/red version the brass parts will be PVD Chrome or Sandblasted? Asking this cuz on the Minterly's review she said that it will be sandblasted but looking the latest renders it seems it would be PVD Chrome?
The white and the red are going to be sharing the same PVD Brass, the render for the white board and the layout of the board have been updated to show this. And also to include my Islander set ;)

Is it possible to eliminate the mill marks in the "eye" of the logo? They are quite visible on all protos, Blue being is almost affordable, but the view of it on black is very annoying.

Any estimate on the GB thread? Curious if there's going to be extra plates / PCB's available during the time of purchase.
Oh, I don't care if this is not based on gentoo linux, it might as well be. I'm totally in!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news.....
$550? Is your MOQ like sub 50 units?I think you're looking for the Iron160 thread, this GB has been over and done with for a year and a half.
