Hey, that's really great!  Hope the next 500 come along as quickly as the first 500 did.  There would be many more of us if every keyboard user were forced to use a good quality keyboard for a month, or two, then put back to work on their usual mush pads.

I once tried starting a forum, but it was soooo hard to get people on it.  I eventually dropped it.

How long did it take to get a substantial amount of posters?  Was it hard to keep content up in the beginning?

With geekhack, there was an obvious need...I could not find a decent English language, keyboard-dedicated forum.  I wanted to talk keyboards, share what I had learned, and learn from others.  All it really took was some persistence in getting some other keyboard enthusiasts to come and share their experiences, and we just naturally started creating content that ended up attracting other keyboard enthusiasts once it started hitting the search engines.
