Love the open air rig but I seriously doubt my wife would go for it considering we have a 4 year old son that LOVES computers and a 3 month old daughter.

Here's a brief idea

Nice setup. Is that sunlight or lighting at the top of the room?

That's actually just the over-head lighting in the room. It's a giant room with curtains allowing us (photographers) to block off areas if needed. So at the time I had the lights on in my bay but girl next to me was in the middle of shooting, hence the curtain.

If only it was actually my equipment haha...I guess I have more money for caps that way

It's not going to win any contests over looks (I tried to manage the cables, I really did), but here it is:

Asus Sabertooth P67
i5 2500k (No overclocking yet, I haven't had any need to)
Cooler Master Hyper 212+
4x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz DDR3
Asus DCII GTX 570 (seriously massive card)
Corsair TX850 (Made this with SLIing 570s in mind, not planning on that anymore though)
Rosewill PCI WiFi card
1x Seagate Barracuda 1TB
1x Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Since taking the pic I've added a 160GB Hitachi Deskstar that I had lying around as a backup drive.
All inside a Cooler Master HAF 922.

Depends on the cards and what games you're going to be playing. I've got two 560ti 448s, and in most new games they get ridiculously high scaling (like 85-95%) and allow me to completely max out BF3 despite the fact they were very cheap.

yup they started making large inprovements on SLI scaling with the 500 series and got very very close in the 600 series.

It's not so much the cards I was using (2x 560ti OC), as much as it was that I don't regularly play any games that support it. I mainly play older games like WoW or games that don't need a lot of graphic muscle. I mainly went SLI because I never had before and wanted to try it out. But I wish I had bought a single 570 or 580 instead.

Yeah, I would rather have one more powerful card than two less powerful cards also.

New machine for a new job (paid for by company). This one's another Corsair poster child:

Memory:

Testing the build. As awesome as the cable management for the 600T is, mine's nowhere near as clean as Photekq's:

Installing Windows 8:

2 out of 3 U3011's set up (3 won't fit on my desk, need to pick up a pair of Ergotron MXs):
Show Image

(Yes, I know my desk is filthy).

Specs:
Corsair 600T White Edition Case
ASRock x79 Extreme 6 Motherboard
Core i7 3970x Extreme Edition (running stock, it's a work machine)
64 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600
Zalman 9900 Max CPU cooler
Corsair Neutron 240gb SSD
Corsair HX850 PSU
EVGA GTX 660ti and GTX 560ti video cards (the 560 is mine, not going to be gaming on this thing).

I'll try to get a decent shot of the internals here in a bit.

PS: The name of my new employer is in one of those pics.

I was already planning on doing that with my Phantom.  The plan is to eliminate the F row and build the case so that where the F keys are it would angle up and just build a custom plate into the case.  From there I was going to hard wire from the mother board pins to the Cherry switch.  Going to pass the power and reset button signals through a selector switch so I can use the same switch for power and reset via the rotary switch.

I know it's only temporary, but it's weird to see cheap stock coolers inside a custom built computer, especially with a behemoth case.

Did someone just leak that picture?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
