Hi Guys. We are a UK based company that manufacture ergonomic mice. We are currently looking for beta testers for a new design of ergonomic gaming mice. It's design is focused on accuracy and endurance.
The testers will be sent a short questionnaire and may be invited to test prototypes.
Thanks for your time.
-
sounds interesting, do you have any pictures of the prototype?
-
Nice. I'd live to be a part. My normal mouse has been bugging me lately.
-
I could definitely help too
-
I'd love a chance to play with some new gear...and provide detailed feedback ;D
-
I'd love to help, competitive FPS gamer here who has yet to find the perfect mouse!
-
I'm interested! Will monitor the thread.
Any pictures so far?
-
I'd be interested in testing :). I'm also curious about what the mouse looks like.
-
Along with everyone else - I would be interested in testing as well.
-
im in the uk and would love to get in on this
-
I'm not in the UK, but I have a couple of good mice on which I can provide a basis.
-
I'm also in the UK and wouldn't mind being a tester too although I am fairly picky about mice as my wrist sounds like a cement mixer now :X
-
I'm in US but very interested. Currently switching between Logitech g600, mx518, track man marble, and a mouse trak trackball
-
I live in remote mountains as far and away as it is possible, but still, even here in this remote land, we use mice. I'd love to test a new one.

I'm the US, but would be interested in testing new hardware.
In addition to gaming I could test feasibility in a work environment.
-
I'd be willing to do a survey or whatever to help out.
I mostly play MOBA's right now, along with some FPS's casually.
-
I'm interested.
-
definitely interested
-
I'd be down to try one
-
I would love to try one as would my right forearm.
-
do you have any pictures of the prototype?
I guess it's the one advertised on his website (http://www.cityergonomics.com/).

Sure, I also live in the UK and wouldn't mind testing out a new idea :thumb:
-
If the mouse can be used in the left hand, I'd love to give it a go.
I'm not in the UK, but shipping to France shouldn't be too bad
Seeing that it's a gaming mouse, how many buttons does it have? Right now I'm using a SS Sensei RAW
-
Interested, please count me in.
-
Please add me to the list of interested UK based people, the original looks good but definitely needs more buttons :thumb:
-
I'd gladly participate if you can ship to Norway.
-
Very interested to give feedback for a DXT fingertip gaming mouse.
-
I'm a US-based trackball user, so I could give some feedback you won't normally get.
-
Count me interested ;) I'm in Portugal.
-
I also would like to test it. I have used several different mice to find the best.
I am living in Germany and I can also compare it to some other ergonomic mice.
Please sent me a message

Using a vertical mouse at work for 8 hours a day, I could give some feedback too.
-
:thumb: I'm interested in participating too!
-
I'm in Australia. Been using the evoluent mice for 10 years at home and at work. Would love to try an alternative.
-
I would use it depending on the sensor
-
OP hasn't logged back in since they posted this thread.
-
count me in, would be fun to try it
-
Hi Guys,
Thanks for your responses. No pictures to send over yet unfortunately.
We will get back to everyone next week with information on next steps.
Thank you for your time.
-
i'd like to help out and test out a new type of mouse
-
I'm in baby!
-
just make sure you are using a 3310 sensor or you already have a crappy mouse.
-
Got a PM. OP finally delivered.
-
I got one as well, I hope I may get into the group that will actually test the new mouse.
-
Anyone get their email yet after the PM? I'm wondering if my spam filter ate it. :-[

Not here yet.
-
im also not - for now I hope
-
I hope this has not been aborted.
-
you guys probably did too, but got my questionnaire a few days ago.
-
Filled out the questionnaire definitely cool stuff.
-
I don't think I'm enough of a gamer to be able to answer some of the questions on this, I come from a simpler time when victory was achieved through skill rather than having a flashy mouse that does things for you.

I think as the company aims to offer the mouse to professional gamers too, they have to ask these very specific questions. In my opinion nowadays skill is still more important than equipment - but that doesn't mean you can't have the best possible equipment available.
-
Love to test one but I am in the US.
I used to be a editorial director for a tech and review website.

This topic is so old but i'd figure i'd necro. I actually got one of these mice in the mail today and they are pretty cool. The only kicker is that the dpi cant be adjusted, only changed between 500,1000,1500,2000dpi , and that it has mouse acceleration, meaning I cant use it to play games. If these can be fixed though, it will be a really cool mouse to use.
-
Forgot about this. Was supposed to get one too but it's been delayed for further improvements. Hope to see one soon!

Yeah it took a really long time but its understandable. I also noticed that the polling rate is low, its like 250hz compared to 1000hz on most mice. The good thing is we can give feedback on this and hopefully it can be fixed.

Are you allowed to post pics or did you sign some kind of NDA? Interested to see what I missed out on...

Ah that explains the 250Hz part - didn't sound very "gamer"!
Good on you for keeping the secrets secret :thumb:
-
Did this ever come to fruition? I'd love to see the product.
-
I tried signing up to test drive it but apparently I just gave them my personal info for no reason =(
-
Crap. I never realized they could've just fished for info.
I did get a follow-up email a couple of months ago. They said they were still working on protos.
Blah.
-
this mouse design doesn't seem to have mouse4/5.. not worth using
-
This is not the finished design, the unit they sent us is a their regular mouse to see how it works with regular use in gaming. They showed us the sketches for the gaming mouse and they look very nice actually, hope to see it soon, for now, gonna use the sample they sent, maybe I'll get one of the end products to test too :)
-
Mine just shipped!

Got my mouse some weeks ago too, but it does not have acceleration enabled. So I guess it can be disabled?

The DXT mouse that we've been given doesn't have such feature.
The gaming mice they are producing have a software to enable and disable various features, including acceleration.

Did anyone else sign up to be a beta tester and receive their mouse? I just got mine today. First impressions? The scroll wheel is driving me insane. It's positioned so poorly it makes me want to scream in frustration. The gaming version is apparently better but it's really really annoying. In games like Borderlands or Counterstrike, I use the scroll wheel to cycle through weapons so it's super annoying. Also? I desperately wish the buttons were positioned further up. Even just by an inch or two. It feels like my hand is smashed against the desk in it's current design. My hand constantly wants to adjust itself.
Another super jarring issue since I come from trackballs and perfect optical sensor mice, the acceleration is throwing me off. I'm going to try and force myself to use it for a bit longer though since I think it's so close to being right.
-
I got mine today. Will update this post with thoughts.
-
Did you guys get any communication before they shipped?

Yeah, but the manual they emailed is different from the actual one they sent.
-
Are we talking about the DXT mouse? I've had it for quite some time (and got an e-mail before shipment back in May).
In terms of shape and button positions, I only wish it was a tad bit thicker (at the thumb rest) with buttons higher (because my pinkie is weirdly curled with the recommended grip), and there was a separate button instead of a wheel. I'm actually glad, that the wheel is horizontal—considering it's already there—so that I can use the mouse left-handed; the symmetry is the one thing, that makes this mouse unique. However, the wheel switch could have been much better (snappier).
