What would be a good case that plays well with the underglow of the PCB?

TEX cases will require a modification. The horizontal supports between each row of switches will need to be removed where the RGB LED's are.

Check out the clear 3d printed case at 1UP Keyboards (supports Poker-style plates), or the BBB Acrylic case from winkeyless.kr (case includes plate)

I thought I could use the rgb version with the tex case.

What if I got the tier 2 version without the rgb lights?

Could I then use most poker compatible cases?

What about other poker cases?

If the case doesn't have those funny ridges, you can use it even with the RGB LED's. I've seen a few nice looking aluminium cases that are just standoffs the PCB sits on top of.

If you got without RGB LED's, the components wouldn't interfere with the ridges in the case and you should be able to use any case you want.
A lot of the appeal of this PCB over the FaceW Sprit and mechanicalkeyboards.com sells is that RGB back lighting. You'll still have it as an option later if you wanted to solder in some LED's at least.

That said, the Acrylic TEX case can totally still be used, just dremel out slits to give clearance for the RGB LED's.

Would the pcb / switches from this group buy work with this case?

Would I need a plate with the afore mentioned case?

Just filled in my order.
Going for a Tier 3, which i'm hoping will look good with the Carbon Fiber case.
Hopefully soldering the switches will be easy (never soldered before, so any tips welcome)
Thanks for the awesome groupbuy

Hi,
Apologies some more newbie question? Do i need to tell you the layout i want if i'm getting the tier 3 pcb with presoldered diodes / led's?
Does this PC support the Happy Layout as mentioned on the carbon fiber case I'm getting in the other group buy? I'm not sure which layout i'm going for yet.

You do not need to tell the layout ahead of time, you will determine that when you solder the switches, and this plate supports just about any 60%-based layout you can imagine, so yes, it supports happy. It should work just fine with hwood's cf cases.

URGENT - URGENT - URGENT

Those who ordered a tier 2 PCB. Would it be a problem for you if RGB parts were added, for free? IF NOT, you have to tell me now.

I know this seems unfair to those who ordered a fully soldered PCB. I will be refunding what i can at the end.

This makes the process much faster and simpler for Winkeyless. I am already loosing money on the sales, so please let me know your ideas.

I will look at this at the end. 19$ refund per PCB tier 3. A lot of people have offered to not get a refund, which is amazing.

Thanks for all the positive response, I will make a update tonight and we can get this GB going !

A lot of people have offered to not get a refund, which is amazing.

I hope that more people end up doing this and that the tier2 buyers could also upgrade to tier3. There is only a $19 difference between the two tiers which is relatively small for the individual GB participant, but if this cost gets unloaded on the organizer, it would be a significant burden. LeandreN already puts a significant amount of work into the buy and I'd like there to be future rounds of his buys!

I realize that it is probably also unfair to GB participants to have sudden price changes, but then again, this isn't a store, so some hiccups should be expected (see the stickied posts).

I realize that I am quite new here, and hope I don't offend anyone by saying this. LeandreN and the other participants are free to make their own choices, of course! :)

i havent gotten my invoice yet (i know it will come, dont feel rushed!) but i suggest putting both prices in there, so people can decide :D i would not want you to lose money and i surely will consider paying the normal price too :)
