Is this GB going to happen this year?  I want to buy 60% aluminium case or kit. I will get keycaps for this build in December.

Hi Leandren,

Any chance of making the plate cutouts for the Fjell Pro Normal split-space compatible? Similar to the BananaSplit60, like this:

Or like this:

Thanks!

Hello!

Some updates.
I have gotten a ton of emails and requests regarding the FJELL Group Buy, from you here and even other vendors. As of now, I can't handle enough orders to please everyone.
If I can find a vendor that is able to handle FJELL orders, I will be able to go that route. I will make sure it is safe for every participant. Manufacturing will go through my factory anyway. Everything will still be LeandreN style with Mekanisk branding, but it would allow me to have better fulfillment for more cases. This might change later, as Mekanisk grows.

Also, the simple case is ready for mass production very soon.

Any thoughts or concerns? Please let me know.
William

This top down picture really doesn't say much about the case. Could you take some all around?

Are color options still TBD? I'd like to get the simple case in dark blue like the FJELL in your sig.

Is there any chance of adding the blocked ctrl layout to the simple case, like the Fjell Pro? I thought that the layout was available but it turns out the keyboard in one of the picture was a hhkb :x

That's actually the dark grey case but the white balance is off. I'm on your side though, please give us a dark blue case LeandreN!

Wow, at least we know what it'd look like in dark blue. What keyset is that on it?

That's a beautiful red. I'm totally in for one, I hope the FJELL Pro also comes in Red!

I do have a huge request - Your plates offer switchtop removal, however having the huge gaps on the side aren't really the best for stability, especially with pulling keycaps off of Clears.

Would it be possible to change the switchtop style to the one that also holds the switch on the sides, and only gaps in the 4 corners? Like the M65 plate?

I would provide an image here, but I'm not too sure how. I can message you an example if you'd like. :)

I am beyond excited for R2 - hopefully this will be an unlimited drop. With the amount of interest in these cases it would awesome for everyone who would like one to actually be able to get one. I would be really disappointed if they were limited to "x" per style.

+1 Simple Case - Best high profile case I have seen in a long time. Very minimalist too.
+1 Fjell Classic - This case is not just a case, it's a statement. It's almost like a fashion statement, but for the desk.

Really hopeful, since my endgames would be both these cases no doubt about it.

EDIT: Long time lurker, who literally made a GH account just to post this

I find myself continuously Googling pictures of Fjell cases. Absolutely love the black and purple with Skidata+ caps and silver with Carbon caps. I guess what I'm trying to say is... when this case finally hits R2, it's going to be a real problem for my wallet. Sometimes I think about all the money I'd have if I found "end game" for real for real this time.

LeandreN - I'm interested in picking up a Fjell when the next GB runs. You mentioned earlier about supporting third party PCBs, this would be a huge bonus for myself as I'm looking for a high quality case to house an Alps64 PCB. Will your plates support Alps switches in combination with this PCB, or will I have to source my own plate to match my PCB?

The normal Fjell is tray mounted isnt' it? So any plate/PCB with standard port/mounts should work? It's the Fjell Pro that will be top mount.

I'm not leandren, but since you need one plate per layout/stabilizer combo for Alps I'm pretty sure they won't. The Alps plate/stabilizer stuff is a real pita.

Pretty sure there's not going to be a simple hhkb case. It would take a non-standard pcb to fit.

It might be possible to get it in with a lot of angling but it's super hard to say without trying.

That's an interesting idea. Would definitely need to be prototyped to make sure the pcb standoff in the bottom row doesn't interfere. That and possibly the USB port.

Ah I forgot about the bottom standoff. I doubt it'd work with one.

It would make for an interesting feeling spacebar though. I imagine it would be a softer bottom out without the standoff being so close.

Edit: Kawasaki brings up a very good manufacturing point. Unless it's 3D printed, there's no way to make that shape without a 2 piece design.

Without the usb port being flush or there being a quarter inch gap I don't see a way for a 1 piece case and I as well can't really see how the machining could be done

Just finished up the designs for the classic Fjell(small updates).

As Said before, the Fjell Pro is very complicated and I want to make the mounting system a little different. I will do that, then I will need to sample it.

Do you know what colors will be offered for the Simple/Klippe ?
I think grey, and purple at least. There might be some other colors, but I can't remember right now.

Okay, Grey would probably be my top choice anyways.

Sorry if it's been said already, but has there been a price decided on yet?

Any updates on when the Klippe might launch?
Next week, or the week after hopefully :)

1upkeyboards.com is the one that will decide the time and date. I will try to keep you all posted.
Looking forward to get this first batch sold.

Planning a EU group but now, but I have no date or information on that now.

And, last question.

Is there going to be a limit on how many people can join the GB like how the last one was?
