Started using my HHKB again last night, after a few days on my Filco MJ2 w/ Ergo Clears. It's so purrdy.

Yes, the Lime Green cap does not match the profile, and that's because I used them all on other boards.

im using a coolermaster quickfire tk on reds.

ive come from a coolermaster quickfire rapid on blacks and im not sure if i like the reds or not yet, i think i need some o's to reduce the travel a bit.

i know the travel distance is the same but i think due to the forces required to bottom out it feels like a longer throw. Failing that i will pick up a poker 2 on blacks.

Switched to my semi-industrial ssk. Typing on it in combination with listening to some classic rock is awesome. :D

I've been using my Das Keyboard Ultimate Model S I think with mx blues, very clicky and fun. I have problems with not bottoming out when i type fast however. I'm happy to say that I've ordered myself a blank white HHKB pro 2 for my second board, and am very excited to try topres.

Not bottoming out when you type fast is not a problem!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Heh, yeah of course not. That was a mistype, my bad. When I start one of those speed tests or whatever, its just so tempting to just push down hard and leap to the next key but the more i type the better i get at just fluttering from key to key and now I'm getting closer and closer to my 120 wpm goal. The sound is drastically different when you don't bottom out as well, and I think i prefer it to the harsher smashing of the keyboard.

I swapped out the white and grey keycaps from my 87UW 45g to the new 87UB 55g I bought. I love that particular color combination of black case and white and grey keys.  That is what I'm typing on. But it's so heavy. I'm trying to get used to it. It's like just starting an exercise program when you are out of shape.

It's really not that heavier than the 45g. It's just snappier and more responsive. Once you get used it the weight, which usually only takes a couple days, it'll be a breeze to type on it. I think slower typists tend to feel the weight more than those who type fast. I feel that the 55g domes are designed for quick and fast switch presses, where one lifts off quickly on each press.

Give it a couple days; you'll fall in love!

My first Mechanical keyboard is Filco Majestouch 2 AI blue switch. Using it for 2 months.
Then I bought Realforce 104 UB Variable.
Next 2 Months I bought 104 UB-DKI 45 gr Weight, and 87U 55 gr force with Digilog Aluminium case.
The 87U still in USA, will receive it in a week, while the Aluminium case already waiting patiently for a month  ;D

Been talking about SSK so I switched back to my Model M for a little while.

Loving the feel and sound, but already missing the Thorpe goodness.

TK with Blues for now, and going to switch to a Ducky Yellow TKL with Blues when it comes in, hopefully by next week's end.
Nice!! I'm really tempted to get one of those limited edition yellow versions too!

Those lighting modes, I'm definitely going to get to see firsthand what typing 150+ on them will look like.  ;D
Also, seeing that it had not just PBT, but a very thick looking PBT, while somehow still letting light through, made me quite happy.
I'd recommend it! Still going for $150 shipped at mechanicalkeyboards.
Quickfire TK MX Blue Corsair K60 MX Red Ducky Shine 3 Yellow TKL MX Blue Leopold FC660C
Current best: 162 wpm.

Actual video of someone typing 150+ wpm on that reactive mode would be so cool!
This sucks more than anything that has ever sucked before.

I'll put up a video when I get it!
10FF will be good for it. If you consider the errors as wpm, it will be more like 160 wpm.

I am looking forward to it.
Have you ever measured how many apm you have while testing your wpm (with errors) ?

Well, I wouldn't know in games like SCII, if that's what you meant, but 10FF does take into account your total keystrokes and corrections, but not at the same time. I guess my keypresses/minute is something more like 800.

EDIT: jk, just poked in a 157 wpm with 810 characters inputted, not counting a few backspaces. So maybe like 820 or so.

The front panel and trackpoint were parts of the  keyboard of T60
, the wheel encoder was from an used mouse.

And it's programmable, the controller was from KBC imsto.

Hey thats not a mechanical keyboard
Neither is mine at the moment. Logitech G11, which will go into retirement as soon as I receive my G80-3000...
Left shift gets stuck all the time, I think some keys are even missing stabilizers. Oh yeah, and F4 activates on its own whether I press it or not. Constantly. So I have it disabled.
