How do you keep all your keyboards
« on: Sun, 31 May 2015, 05:57:27 »
I thought it might be good idea to share how all your keyboards are stored. Especially for those of you who own >>>10 keyboards.  :thumb:

So this is the post to share your keyboard storage system.

That's pretty cool looking, I don't have pictures because my room is a mess, but the one I'm not using I have in its box under my bed

I have no system...

Well, actually, the stuff on the desk is the stuff I'm working on right now, the stuff on the shelves is stuff I don't want the kids to get hold of and the stuff in the pile in the corner is "misc". I have a load more crap up in a cupboard but that is really messy....

Ninjadoc, you should try tilt them up a bit at the back, so they are more visible!

mine was worse than that before we packed stuff up, actually it was quite embarassing as I was cleaning my storage room out of the old house and realized I had duplicates of quite a few things.  :-\

I'm considering buying something like these

Laid on the side in large carboard boxes. Non-detachable cables are wound up and put into empty tissue paper rolls to prevent the plasticisers in them to eat into the keyboard cases.

I have mine on a shelf, I will have to take a picture of how it is. I plan on getting boxes made though.

Most of mine are in Cherry boxes, though mostly not the original proper box for that model... all stacked neatly.

I was walking in Ikea today, and thought of getting something like ninjadoc. Then I thought, maybe I should look at what you guys did before I decide on something.

I found this thing unused in another part of the building where I work. I've got no idea what it's supposed to be used for but it's really good at holding some keyboards. Sorry for the mess.

I've been thinking of making something that looks like a magazine rack, or better yet a snowboard rack, so that I can stack them up efficiently and have them angled so I can see them.

I think it'd make it much easier to cycle through them more frequently to have them organized and quickly readily available.

I don't have any photos, but at my last place I had two fairly long and really shallow shelves on the wall over my desk (one above the other). They had a small lip on them to keep the boards in place. I had 3 keyboards on each, side by side. Looked really good, but the cables were a little difficult to deal with.

Here's mine.

I try to prop them up at the back, and I'm going to have to sell some to make room for some more ^_^
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

most of them in their original packing / carton and then stored within this kind of boxes:

then the keyboards I have in regular rotation mostly in sleeves stored on a shelf of an ikea furniture.

and the 60%-65% boards that fit right in the ikea furniture like this:
