So now that the BETA is over, have any of you made a decision as to whether you'll be buying it?
I liked it, but didn't have as much fun as I was expecting. (none of my friends play it, sadly) so probably no purchase from me at this time.

Probably will be buying it, but I do have concerns about the long-term playability. I feel like I'm going to get bored of it after a month or two and then rarely come back to it.

The key is friends. Much like TF2, Overwatch is exponentially more fun to play when you have a friend group to play with. I had a load of laughs when playing the beta with my friends, but they love to jump games unpredictably so I don't know how long it'll last.

I think it deserves a buy strictly based on the fluidity and smoothness of the game design. The maps look incredible and everything feels like it just "works". $40 is a very fair price for a game like this, in my opinion.

Play pretty extensively during this "final beta" and the game itself is nice, the players however need to learn quick that it takes a team to win. Already picked it up, will play it and depending if I can get a team going its most likely going to be my main game. After falling out of love with SF5, I kinda need a new main game. FPS is my bread and butter so it feels nice going back to my roots. Tried getting back into cs:go but the hour long games just does not work

How long the game will last and be fun is hard to say. Due to the MOBA aspects I fear that there will be more MOBA players than FPS players, that could potentially ruin the game for me. There is something about MOBA players that just stinks, every MOBA I played (Dota, Dota2, HoN) was fun but the players made it unbearable

The competitive aspect right now feel uncertain but could become big. The game looks good, is fun, and has a great dev backing it

They've also talked that main content (e.g. maps and heroes) will be patched into the game, not sold. I am sure you can buy the hell out of currency for sprays, skins, voices, etc.

I agree that having people to play with is key. I played a bit solo, which was fun; however, with friends, it was amazingly fun. Even losing.

Already bought. Unlike a lot of people, I enjoy solo queue just as much as group games. It's never more satisfying then when a group of strangers, no communication involved, come together and completely own a game, absolutely destroying the other team. The feeling is too great to describe. But that aside, I was never bored in the beta and I think the only thing that will ruin the game (mainly PC) is cheaters and hackers.

Plus, if you need any friends to play with, air tree and I were always on and would gladly have you!

Yes, you can. I got multiple duplicate skins from the loot boxes I opened.

However, if you get a duplicate, it converts it into game-currency, which is nice.

Indeed. It's a reduced amount, however - I distinctly remember getting 15c for a 25c skin duplicate, but I don't know what it would be for the other tiers. Either way, better than nothing.

Do we know if our currency/skins/unlocks are wiped with the end of beta?

It was a tough decision for me not to buy it as well, I had an itchy trigger finger.

Wasn't able to try out the beta but the game looks fun from the bits I saw. Hopefully it can replace my love/hate relationship with GO

You can choose your region in the battle.net launcher - however, your ping will be through the roof if you try to play cross-region.

Well, honestly, it wouldn't be too bad if you were to play a support. You wouldn't be able to play super mechanical heroes like tracer or mccree, but you'd still be able to play people like torbjorn, mercy, etc because latency doesn't mean much to their gameplay.

Might be worth a shot if you have people in the states/outside your region to play with.

I like playing support so that's definitely an option. I do have more friends in the states than in my own country (that's sad, wow FeelsBadMan) so I think it might work.

yeah having huge amounts of fun with zenyatta, but he doesn't have as much healing output as mercy or lucio unfortunately
