Introducing the Ingot TKL
O/R KB is proud to announce the in-stock sale for the Ingot. The Ingot takes a classic TKL and adds some character to the mounting style and internals based on our preferences. Development started back in 2022 and the goal was to push for in-stock as we are not fans of the group buy model ourselves. There has been some delays and a lot of lessons learned, but we're finally here! The specs are as follows:
Top/Bottom Case: 6063 Anodized Aluminum
Weight: PVD Coated Copper
Mounting Style: Leaf Spring Top mount or O-ring gasket
Plate: 5052 Anodized Aluminum Flex plate
Typing Angle: 7 degrees
Front Height: 18.9mm
Weight: ~ 6 lbs 6 oz or 2.89 Kg
PCB: Custom PCB, compatibility w/ H87/other F12 TKL PCB w/ JST & north facing stabilizer
There will be three plate variants available; either flex, plastic of full. The goal of the plate was to optimized sound and feel consistency for the board on top of providing a softer typing experience. See below for how they are designed:
All three plate files are available at our
GitHub repo
. General information about the board as well as PCB firmware and internal plate files can be found there as well.
Our custom PCB supports the following layouts:

Notes:
Reflash the firmware on the PCB. The PCB is QMK/VIA approved after the initial firmware was flashed on the PCBs. Check the Ingot GitHub repository for more information.
Use clip-in stabilizers if utilizing o-ring mount. With how the o-ring standoffs are, screw in stabilizers will not seat the PCB/Plate assembly properly.
If there is a weird stoppage due to the JST wire, prebend the wire so it folds into the channel, otherwise trim the sleeving of the JST cable so that it can seat into the channel properly.
The PCB switch pin holes are VERY tight for mill max sockets. It is highly recommended to solder your build if you wish to use o-ring mount. There are aftermarket hotswap PCBs available that will work, but in general it is not recommended to use hotswap PCBs for half plate/o-ring builds.
Please inspect your kit upon receiving it. Any issues regarding the quality of the case will be ignored if the case has been opened/built in. No replacements or returns will be accepted thereafter.
Some mentioned that their cables didn't work, please keep in mind that you'll need a fairly slim cable housing for the USB to fully seat.
If your top mount config has some resistance in closing the case, please sand down the o-ring cutouts on the PCB, it seems the tolerance from the PCB manufacturer is off by a mm or so.
