So I'm thinking of selling off some stuff to afford just the plane ticket which is like $700 including return flight. Then I'd need food and a place to stay though And I still gotta make it to PAX a few months after that. At this point dunno if I'll afford but I'll try guyz. Who likes Bro Bots?

I don't think height reduction is simple.  Cause hoof is like 3 sifo's stacked on top of each other.

Last few meets were just us hanging out, playing keyboards, and a bit of selling. I know I've bought some things at the last official Keycon (TechKeys business card and a keycap set). But there hasn't been a huge vendor presence...yet. I think tjcaustin is going to sell cables if he's going.

We also had some presentations last year. I might be giving one on machining metals 101 or injection molding 101 depending on interest.

i'm hoping to rope more large vendors in, because most are based in california. however, i've been a bit tardy on notifying vendors, so it's likely that it will be a mostly community event.

There a bunch of things I could give talks on.
Probably the most interesting would be a semi-indepth talk on each of the types of sensing types in keyboard switches.
Would include fancy diagrams, and likely demos.

So if you don't bring your KingSaver that's actually okay. I can bring a KingSaver for everyone to try but it will be salmon not blue Alps. I also got my DC-2014 today so there will be something with blue Alps at the meetup. Has anyone seen whether Jacobolus is coming? He and I should bring complementary Alps stuff so we don't have too many dupes.

I’ll definitely come. I’m not sure what I’ll bring though. Most of the Alps keyboards I grabbed in the last few months have had their switches desoldered, so maybe I’ll just make some kind of switch-try thingy.

it will be a "hey, come on over folks!" event. if we do extra-curricular stuff (museum treks, etc) involving van rentals or anything else complicated, you may be asked to pitch-in. otherwise, just come on over and soak in the keyboards and espresso.

as cptbadass clarified in the OP, THIS IS NOT A LARGE CONVECTION IN THE STYLE OF PAX, CES, WHATEVER. this is a relatively small gathering of friends and family from the geekhack community with keyboards, fun etc. there are no tickets. very little organization and a big focus on building friendly bonds with people you've only met on the internet.

further, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CONTACT 724support.com ABOUT THIS. inquiries should go through me. i am coordinating with samwisekoi, who is donating use of his office for the fun and presentations, but that is the extend of 724support's support of this event. ron will be hanging out with us, of course RON YOU ARE HANGING OUT WITH US, but again, 724support is a real, extremely busy business that other than office space for the weekend, is not involved in organization. thanks everyone
