What are you referring to?
If you mean the page movements layered on the cursor keys with
fn, Apple started doing that with the G3 Powerbooks, in 1998. It sucks because
fn is on the far left, so you can't page through documents one-handed. On older Apple laptops
fn was seen by the OS as a modifier, so you could at least fix that with
uControl or
fKeys, but when it's handled in the keyboard, ain't no way.
If you mean the one-cap-for-two-keys thing, that is characteristic of the recent Apple chiclets, as yet another one of Steve Jobs' techniques to promote touch screen by making keyboards that are hardly any better.
