Just a quick shot... I've build a Dolch Raptor for my gf. She wanted a dark colored board and didnt like the SSK I offered her. So I made this... Now I just have to find a damn candycorn for it.

This is awesome. I love the layout of the 1800. Did the Dolch space bar not work?

I sadly only had 7x ones. If somebody has one that fits, let me know.

I wish my GF liked my keyboard offerings. :(

I offered her a SSK... and she said... "I don't want that ugly keyboard, it's so huge and fat. Don't you have a nice one?"

I tried the same! She started typing on the SSK, I came back 10 minutes later and it was unplugged on the floor.

"I don't like it."

Don't tell her now, but she broke my heart that very day. :'(

I think girls/woman prefer colorful cute little boards with many leds and ten different colors of caps on it... :D

Maybe I also build a mx mini for her... Is there currently a source for cheap pcb and case? I recently didn't follow anything cherry related... cause Buckling Spring is just much more awesome... :))

V60 in a "Pexon" style case, with an actual Pexon cable!

That really caught my eye.  Beautiful looking keyboard.

Oh wow, I also assume that the wrist wrest and monitor stand are 2x4's and the case is the stock one?

the wrist rest and monitor stand started as 3/4" pine. 10" wide by 8' long, and then cut down to size. Off the top of my head I think the wrist rest is 9.5 x 14 and the monitor stand is 9.5 by 16 (IIRC)

looks awesome on there with all the symbol legends, which means you have one of the extra rare German Dolch 1813 boards you took the keys off :)

that 6x space bar on the winkey 1800's is always a pain with the only color choices being what cherry offered on them or 11800/11900 boards. So basically black/beige/grey is all you get

p.s. where did that Orange ESC key come from?

Orange Esc came with Feng's GMK RGBY kits.

And were available on his web site for a while.  I managed to snag two, although one was for mu daughter.

I have two as well. The Esc keys were meant as a gift for those who were in Feng's RGBY GB. The orange one for Geekhack and the green one for a Chinese forum. No idea for who the blue one was meant.

Hey guys,
New to the forum and recently purchased the Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja TKL to replace my Ducky Premier which is going to my girlfriend.
Put on the Max Translucent keycap set on it yesterday and decided that even though it was good and served it's purpose, I would like to try how PBT keycaps sounded and felt on this particular board after liking the feel of them on the Premier.
Purchased the Ducky Blue/Grey engraved PBT set and immediately put them on my Filco and I must say, I am pleased. The sound has changed from a hollow one with the Max key caps to a more satisfying, deeper "thock" if it can be described that way. I was worried that the engraved caps would make it harder for me to type since I'm not exactly a touch typist. I would occasionally have to look down at the board if my hands move too much and I lose my placement but the engraved caps pick up the glow from the monitor really well...
So, I went from this

To this

One thing though, I had to shave off a bit off the bottom part of the stabilised caps in order for them to not get stuck on the upstroke. I think the wires are hitting the inner side of the caps. Has anyone experienced this as well?
Sorry for the potato pics, only had my phone on hand

This is not uncommon, especially with Costar stabilisers.

One thing though, I had to shave off a bit off the bottom part of the stabilised caps in order for them to not get stuck on the upstroke. I think the wires are hitting the inner side of the caps. Has anyone experienced this as well?

This is not uncommon, especially with Costar stabilisers.

Glad to know it isn't and it wasn't just my luck to get a dud.

Apparently it's hit or miss with Costar stabilizers if they rub against thick keycaps.

I've had some minor rubbing of the stabilizers with Cherry profile, but never had a problem with taller OEM PBT caps.

That's alright, got m fiance a qfr with reds (couldn't find one with blacks and had springs coming in to mod the reds anyways) and she won't let me mod the reds now because she actually likes them. I'm glad she actually likes the board, but it makes me sad that I don't get to use the bro set at all because typing on reds feels like squishing your hands into a pile of vomit.

And the other thing to consider is that these are Ducky keycaps and most (if not all) Ducky keyboards have Cherry stabilisers, so making the keycaps fit onto Costar stabilisers is probably not a priority for Ducky.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

True, but luckily the stem spacings are all similar and it didn't take much to fit them on my filco. only gripe is the set doesn't have a menu button. like on my Filco...

Yeah, I took the caps off and sanded them down a bit and also lubed up the stabilisers. Now the stabilised caps are smooth as silk and I don't have any rattling happening. All in all, very happy with my purchases thus far. Kind of glad I didn't get the DS3 or I might always be wondering when an LED is going to fail.
Money well spent  :D
Now waiting for an artisan cap I purchased. Once it's on, my keyboard mod would be complete. Unless I suddenly get the itch to replace my stock cable with the pexon removable one and also change the stock controller to the pegasus hoof(though I still don't know much about this and wondering whether if I do it wrong whether I'll brick my board)

Sorry for the potato pics, only had my phone on hand

Yes, same thing happend for me with the backspace on my ducky thick pbt caps, all other stabilized keys are fine though, I just took a small knife and shaved some off, it was so little anyway, like less than a millimeted.
