SP Dolch ANSI-set
« on: Mon, 26 August 2013, 02:26:21 »
I recently bought a Dolch language pack.

It's Signature Plastics doubleshot caps from the second Dolch group-buy on Geekhack.
Now I need a ansi set from the same GB or something else that will match it to make full Swedish layout.
Any suggestion on how to get hold of that?

I believe that's a Round 3 or Round 4 set, thus your best bet is the get 60 posts under your belt, then start a WTB thread in the classifieds for one.

this is impossible. i attempted this for 6 months without luck. i did end up getting a SA R4 set from mmmty though. but dolch? nope. no one wants to sell theirs via classifieds. they go up for auction sometimes.

i got the team redline dsa dolch set so i am finally gonna be set. also i think originitive sells dolch sets but there might be a backorder of people wanting them.

:( That does not sound good. I though getting the language pack was going to be the hardest part. Crazy that no vendor is selling them if demand is that big.

I couldn't find any dolch on Originative. I think I saw them earlier but that where made by GMK with Cherry low profile and legends right?

Originative's dolch are far closer to the original. They have smaller legends placed in the upper left with the correct font. Round3 (and the repeat in Round 4) has large centered legends. If we ever get Swedish dolch, I would sell my R3 kits in a heartbeat. If so, I would probably sell the full+language pack together though.

But will it be dolch or near dolch? I thought the latter? Either way, this might be what I have been waiting for.

It's not Dolch, but it will have kind of similar style in couple steps darker. Mods become black, letters become Dolch mods color.

Your GB is what I'm waiting and hoping for but I need something until I get my hands on those caps.

I have now been able to buy the set I needed from 7bit's round 4 sellout on DT. :D I haven't received it yet so I'm still not 100% sure I got everything matching and all the keys but I think I have. So it's not impossible to get stuff your looking for but it takes some time and effort and you need luck. One thing that would help people to get nice caps is to put sets your not using up for out sell instead of collecting everything you get your hands on.

I the process of hunting Swedish layout caps I ended up with as nice Round 4 retro set that I have no plans to use anymore. It's a big set that covers many keyboard models and Swedish/Finish, ANSI layouts. So now I'm selling it here: http://deskthority.net/marketplace-f11/r4-retro-stdrgbysym-retro-se-t6521.html
