Title: Help with repair of daughterboard connector
Post by: the_useless_turtle on Fri, 30 September 2022, 12:09:46
So I just broke the daughterboard connector of a keyboard I was building. Any tips on how to repair this? [attachimg=1]

Looks like all the traces are still on the PCB so you just need to solder it back on - easier said than done as it is very small.

Another option would be to follow the traces and solder the wires directly to nearby components - if you want help with this you'll need to move the shiny bit onto the connector area as black PCBs are hard to see anything on.

Yep that looks rather simple other than size.
Looks like it was a rather cold joint to begin with.

How lucky you are, the pads are still there!

Just resolder the connector and you will be good to go ;)
