March 03, 2022 - The following changes have been made based on community feedback.
Kitting
Papel Picado:
- Given the popularity in the IC form, Papel Picado has become the main basekit.
- R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn have been added for a better 65% support.
- The colors' arrangement has been modified, so most of them are not repeated in most standard layouts.
- An exclusive R1 novelty has been added to this basekit.
- To be consistent with the colored arrows in the novelties kit, an alternative "up arrow" key has been added to the basekit.
Noche Negra:
- R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn, and an extra R4 Fn have been added for a better 60/65% support.
- The R1 Pipe color has been fixed.
- The colors of the mods: Numpad Enter, Numpad 2U +, Numpad 1U + and Numpad 1U - have been modified for a better design consistency.
- An exclusive R1 novelty has been added to this basekit.
Calavera:
- ISO Novelty has been finished (I hope you guys like it)
- Extra R3 "Ñ" has been added for better support in the Noche Negra basekit.
- Two new R4 Calaveras have been added.
- 1.25U "Wey" keys were removed.
- Two 1.5U "Wey" keys have been added for better HHKB/MacOS support.
Ocote:
- Both of 1.75U spacebars were replaced by 1U spacebars.
- One 1.25U spacebar has been removed.
Extras
- The GB date has been locked! (June 2022) the exact day will be revealed as we get closer to the GB date.
- The IC form will not accept any more responses at this time; thank you very much for all your feedback!
- The designs of both deskmats that I had planned have been finalized, they can be found in the OP.
- The vast majority of collaborations have been confirmed. You can find the complete list in the OP.
- GMK Mictlán will have two keyboard collabs more information about this in the coming weeks.
What's next?
- The new renders (for kitting and keyboards) have already been ordered, I hope to have them as soon as possible.
- Prototypes of the deskmats have already been ordered.

fyi looks like there's a typo in the spacebars set, first bar says 6.25u centered but the bar underneath is the same length in the render and is 6.00u off-centered, guessing the top bar is supposed to be 6u c?

Wouldn't mind a 1u in spacebar kit.
I'll also pick up the novelty kit, mainly for the skulls to add some colors to WoB. Would assume the skull itself to be part of the doubleshot, while the skulle decorations are pad/uv printed.
Side note: 2,75u in basekit, and 6u centered stem in spacebar kit are labeled wrong.

The base kit is missing R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn keys for 65% support (https://i.imgur.com/tKSXZLN.png); please consider adding them.
It's also recommended to add a purple R4 1u Fn key to the regular base kit, for when that key is placed on the bottom row, or on R4 next to 1.75u Shift.
You can kill two birds with one stone here if you change the current gray R4 Fn key to purple, and add R3 Prev, R4 Next keys in gray. Here's an example (https://i.imgur.com/2ijl2Dx.jpg) of a set that does that. The latter two keys are generic-legend variants of R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn which can also fill a few other roles.
For reasons similar to the Fn key above, you could/should add a cyan R1 1u Delete for when that key is placed above Backspace (e.g. on HHKB layouts).
If you make that legend generic, e.g. Erase, this key will be able to double as a R1 1u Backspace (which some layouts use). However, it's also fine if you don't do that and keep it as Delete.
The R1 1u \| key should be gray (alpha-colored), not cyan (mod-colored), since that key is an alpha key and doesn't usually go in the corner (only `~ does).
Please consider using System/Sys or Super instead of Code. The latter is pretty bad as an OS key legend, and it works much better as a generic / “any” key legend.
Also consider changing the R3 1.75u Control key to use an icon legend (∧). This will help with visual consistency in the set, as the text legend has a habit of looking out of place in the middle of icon mods (comparison (https://imgur.com/ngbaQa9), example in kit (https://i.imgur.com/4M23EGw)).
Shouldn't the numpad Enter legend be pink or purple instead of orange?
As far as the 40s support goes, keep in mind that 3-key won't look particularly nice with this sort of colorway since several gray keys will need to be used for the mods.

Keep in mind that the <> key goes to the left of Z. That means that you will have two yellow legend keys (A and <>) really close to each other, which looks like something that you were trying to avoid in this kit.

Both 1.75c spaces, as well as the second 1.25c, are completely unnecessary and can be removed from this kit.
In their place, you can (and should) add a 1c space.
You could also move the 2c, 2.25c, 2.75c spacekeys from the base kits into this kit. Since they are simple, single-color keys in a small kit, the kit will still be fairly cheap, and doing this would allow for some extra flexibility in the bases — either in terms of adding a few extra keys, or dropping the price point.
Not to mention that if the black used is CR, some buyers will already own those spacekeys from other sets, so it would be nice if they didn't have to pay for duplicates.
One final consideration would be to add accent 6.25c and 7c spaces to this kit (e.g. in full orange, like the Esc and Enter accents in the novelties kit). However, this goes slightly against the previous point as it adds an extra color to the kit.

Thank you all! The base color of Noche Negra and Papel Picado it's CR indeed! Later this week I'll confirm the rest of the colors because we are still doing some changes behind the scenes.
Also do not worry about color matching, I'm aiming to use as most stock colors as possible.

Just a note, the 6.25u and 6u off-center space bars are the same size in the Ocote kit
In the bars kit image the 6.25u and 6u appear to be the same size, is this a typo on the 6.25u or just an error in the rendering?

Colors look really good. Big fan of the kitting as well, although personally would've liked 2u, 2,25u and 2,75u in spacebar kit because i'll for sure picking that up 100%.

I'll also pick up the novelty kit, mainly for the skulls to add some colors to WoB. Would assume the skull itself to be part of the doubleshot, while the skulle decorations are pad/uv printed.
Side note: 2,75u in basekit, and 6u centered stem in spacebar kit are labeled wrong.

The base kit is missing R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn keys for 65% support (https://i.imgur.com/tKSXZLN.png); please consider adding them.
It's also recommended to add a purple R4 1u Fn key to the regular base kit, for when that key is placed on the bottom row or next to 1.75u Shift on R4.
You can kill two birds with one stone here if you change the current gray R4 Fn key to purple, and add R3 Prev, R4 Next keys in gray. Here's an example (https://i.imgur.com/2ijl2Dx.jpg) of a set that does that. The latter two keys are generic-legend variants of R3 PgUp, R4 PgDn which can also fill a few other roles.
For reasons similar to the Fn key above, you could/should add a cyan R1 1u Delete for when that key is placed above Backspace (e.g. on HHKB layouts).
If you make that legend generic, e.g. Erase, this key will be able to double as a R1 1u Backspace (which some layouts use).
The R1 1u \| key should be gray (alpha-colored), not cyan (mod-colored), since that key is an alpha key and doesn't usually go in the corner (only `~ does).
Please consider using System/Sys or Super instead of Code. The latter is pretty bad as an OS key legend, and it works much better as a generic / “any” key legend.
Also consider changing the R3 1.75u Control key to use an icon legend (∧). This will help with visual consistency in the set, as the text legend has a habit of looking out of place in the middle of icon mods (comparison (https://imgur.com/ngbaQa9), example in kit (https://i.imgur.com/4M23EGw)).
Shouldn't the numpad Enter legend be pink or purple instead of orange?

How are you getting multiple colors on a single keycap in the novelties?Novelties are not intended to be more than doubleshot, the plan is to make those novelties doubleshot with a UV print layer on top! I'll explain this in a more detailed way later this week (maybe in the following weeks) while GMK confirms some details that I am waiting for.

Appreciate that you've included a Novelty Skull Esc key as part of the base kit for those who might not be able to afford getting the novelty set (or prefer to only use 1 novelty). However, the novelties are amazing and you'd be a fool to not get them too imo.
I'd like to support changing 'Code' legend to 'Super' or 'Sys'/'System', just to avoid two modifier legends starting with C next to each other. Although, given the amount of crazy colours (in the Alt Basekit), I'd actually strongly prefer icon only legends as the modifiers for this set (in the base kit). IMO it would look far cleaner.
A R4 Ñ would be nice too
Looking forward to seeing the deskmat designs and metal artisan collabs when they're revealed!

I'm in for the novelties in any case. I'm more likely to pick up a base set with Papel Picado and icon only mods. Maybe put the icon only mods only on the Papel Picado alt set?
I've had a couple stock Topre dark gray on black sets, and they might as well be blanks as far as I'm concerned. I can't distinguish the legends under light conditions I like to work in. Noche Negra is unappealing for that reason - I don't wanna pay for doubleshots if I can't see the legends!

It is if you expect it to reach MOQ. I'd buy it too but we would definitely be in the minority (I am for sure as a Mac and ISO user) but not that many have Mac extension kits specifically. People really need to ask for it *and* buy the kit to make it worth while for vendors/designers. I'll buy International kits even if I don't really intend to use them for example.
Most you could really ask for if the designer has actively not added it is for 1.5u Super/Code/System/Whatever and an extra 1u Alt as that could cover HHKB/Unix types too if you want to use 7u bottom row. All I can suggest is to fill out the IC form and hoping for enough support.

Indeed. Luckily this time , at the very least it would came along with the theme of the set. Not asking to have Ñ on every set, but since spanish is the fourth most spoken language on earth it would have been nice. Regardless, inserting Ñ on the novelties it's funny to say the least.
Not going to debate the most people don't need it part, since we could be here all day long.

Of course, having the base kit with transparent labels (so that the RGB from the keyboard shines through when turned on) would also fit the theme (dark with no light on, colourful when the lights are on) and be amazing, but I don't know the feasibility of such a thing in a GMK keyset.
Also, seeing the interest that this thread is gathering, it seems that this kit is going to be quite popular. Maybe it would be worth to consider an international kit with no tertiaries (such as the one in PBT Cherry Milkshake (https://oblotzky.industries/products/pbt-cherry-milkshake), that includes Nordeuk+es/pt/fr support), or a Nordeuk + LA/ES?

One issue that you might want to look at vheissu is possibly changing the color of the N in Ñ on the novelties kit to Orange then changing the ~ to another color, so the Ñ can match the N that's in the Papel Picado kit.If you wanted to follow the color in papel picado kit, I think you would want the color to be the same as the ;: key since that is where Ñ goes.

I have a few questions about the Ñ key:

- The main blue color is redundant with the next key quote/double-quote
- It can"t be used as a real Ñ because we are losing a useful key... and if it's for the design the 2 remarks above are not helping
- The Ñ will use the same molds that GMK currently has. I don't have a physical reference to know if it's misaligned or not; I can only ensure that it's going to use the same mold
- The color arrangement of papel picado is a bit more complicated than it seems. If you use the Ñ, the cyan will conflict with the Ñ indeed, but the Ñ being a novelty and not part of the basekit, has a lower priority to meet the thinking of the color arrangement. It happens in other niche cases like some 40's layouts, etc.

Keep in mind that the placement is unavoidable due to the minimum required clearance from the legend to the top edge of the keycap. The ŠŽČĆ legends in Yugo also sit slightly below the other letters in order to accommodate for the diacritics. It's not a big deal imo.
I agree with your second point, though. Good eye.

That's how ICs go tbh, but quite honestly it doesn't change anything: both kits are offered at the same price and they'll both reach MOQ quite easily, IMO.

When I launched the IC (October 31, 2021), Noche Negra was the main basekit due to personal preference. In the March 3rd update, I announced Papel Picado would be the main basekit due to his popularity while reviewing the IC Form, since then, nothing has changed.
Whatever the main kit is, it doesn't have a significant effect as both kits are intended to offer options to people's preference, both have mostly identical kitting, and their price is the same.
