GMK White on Black (WoB)

I'm interested in doing a GMK White on Black (WoB) so i figured i would start out with an interest check.



Before i contact GMK for a render, this will do as a placeholder. Here is a white for better visibility:

A few notes about the current "render".
-ISO enter is missing, will be added
-the ISO keys (r3,r4) legends will be updated
-Mods will be ICON Looking to use Purse for caps.
-Ctrl and Alt will use text.
-F, J with bars will be added


Some questions:
-Is there any keys you want to add? Have i missed any important compatability?
-R3 control? More 1u mods?
-Do you prefer text + Icon vs only Icon?
-What logo for windows-key? I rather not have the win-key that is pad-printed.
-1u alt? 1u ctrl?

I hope we can keep the cost fairly low. This will be archived through a few different ways:
-No colored mods
-Stock colors
-No R5
-No double 2, 3, and other keys that are usually included twice with +2 tone sets.

Do-list
-Add x2 6u spacebar
-Add 1u alt, ctrl (x2)
-Add ISO enter
-R3 Control

also please no purse caps lock

you have r3 pgdn but no r2 pgup

gmk spacebars are cheap just do both 6u options

Fixed the PgUp.
Will add 6u spacebar. Center- or off-center stem? G80-3000 use off-center, who use center?

Great! I actually updated to the black color scheme in order to avoid confusion.

More questions:
-Do people prefer Win-keys vs code or both?
-What backspace/delete key is prefered of those: Cross or arrow?  https://imgur.com/a/HebIl

R3 Control regular and stepped control, please.
For winkeyless, 1u Win keys if Icon only mods, Code (don't capitalize every letter) for text and icon mods.
I personally prefer icon mods. No purse on Caps Lock please. Use the downward shift arrow like in 9009.
1.5u Backspace for HHKB style should not use the box and X arrow. Please use the one that is similar to a leftward pointing regular backspace arrow.

Good compatibility kit examples can be found in GMK 9009 R2, GMK Taro, etc. Can always consult other designers for advice.

would be interested in getting in on a GB for this.

Definitely don't want a cross in box bs for the 1.5 backspace, simple arrow much better. R3 ctrl is  must, stepped capslock is nice to have.

Please no Microsoft Windows logos keys.

First.. some of us don't use windows.. and second, many of us prefer no branding on their stuff...

the little diamond thingie works well... or a dot... or even a blank.... meta/super/FN/etc

anything but a WIN/Windows Logo key.

Please add two R4 1u convex keys that gmk recently got the mold of. I'd get this set just for those 2 keys to be used as spacebars on my atreus.

Two R3 1.5u blanks will make it even better.

Planck, ergodox users will benefit from this as well.

Yes, it says "Late May '18: The GMK Originative sales will begin shortly after the Honeywell Group Buy concludes."

But as an interested person I would say that this still has lots of potential. Shipping costs at originative are 50$ horrible if you live outside CONUS.

And as a person who likes Icon mods I would also see a way there to be different to the Originative buy.

I don't see any info regarding gmk wob by originative but if it's a boring in stock sale at 180$ it wouldn't be a competition to a proper group buy

This would definitely be enticing if you could incorporate some 'interesting' caps - windowed 1u, code, some international sublegends

I'm curious what the GB price will be. The Oco listing price is $135 but I imagine the price will be revised to $180 to be in line with the rest of their GMK sets. For example Demonic used to be $135 as well but recently increased to $180.

Might just be the GB phase price. I remember Hydro was low but after GB the stocked extras were $180ish.

Demonic wasn’t a GB though, right? Oco just ran it iirc.

I would love something like that (WoB with blank/non-windowsy Windows keys) in NorDe aka Swedish keyboard layout.
