I'd check the traces from the controller very carefully with a magnifying glass and that various SMD parts are soldered on well.  Some cuts or cracks can be very fine and maybe there's missing solder.  A multimeter could help too to check all the diodes.

Alright I'll try that out later this week when I have time to see if all the diodes work and everything. Weird since it was working when I originally tested the board by shorting the pads and even after I soldered the board for an hour or 2 then suddenly stops working. Thank you for the advice and hopefully everything is in working order!

Oh if it worked earlier and now doesn't, then I'd definitely check if you haven't accidentally damaged a trace or somehow joined a couple of traces with too much solder (or damaged a diode accidentally).  Not saying any of it is your doing, just things to rule out.

I'll check that out since it even worked after I soldered for a couple hours hopefully I didn't damage a trace or something. Might just desolder the pcb this weekend and test to see if everything works.

Any updates on shipping the remaining boards. I paid shipping quite a while ago but still don't see a tracking code.

Still waiting on an updated invoice. I want to get this paid so my board doesn't get delayed any more than necessary.

Just posting appreciation for the design of this thing as i recently started looking into the more custom boards.

The mars boards is nice, solid & boxy.

The ALF is angly and techy and solid at the same time.

But this one is just absolutely phenomenal. The Curves, the insets, the anodization. It's bloody perfect.

That is all.

How many people had non-functional PCBs in this GB? I thought there were issues with key mapping but I didn't realize people were receiving duds.  I haven't tried mine yet, waiting for some switches to come in before starting my build.

Mine is just sitting gathering dust. The Caps Lock and Enter are both non-responsive on my PCB and from the support on other PCB issue posts I don't see a replacement as likely so I'm just waiting for an opportunity to sell the body and plate on their own. Expensive group buy lesson learned :(

No, since moon uses daughterboard.

Technically it seems like it would work if you can simply wire the mini USB port to extend it to the opening in the case.  I've just overlaid a TX87 PCB, and everything lines up well, and there are no clearance issues in the case if you desolder the preattached mini USB socket.  So if you use the daughter board for the mini USB port and the supplied wires to provide the extension, I think it should work.  The daughter board is just a straight up signal line extension board, there's no microchip on it or anything like that.

theoretically yes, but tx87s are notorious for having issues if you **** with the USB port

you could do it the phantom way, and just get a long cable and live with using a fixed cable

you could do it the phantom way, and just get a long cable and live with using a fixed cable

Interesting, this is probably subject for a dedicated post elsewhere, but if you have a quick response with references, could you say why they have issues with the USB port?  I mean the USB port is just a physical attachment with a few soldering points, so I don't see why extending that attachment is going to be a problem, as long as everything is properly isolated and correctly attached.

Does Tx87 pcb fit in the Moon?

No, since moon uses daughterboard.

Technically it seems like it would work if you can simply wire the mini USB port to extend it to the opening in the case.  I've just overlaid a TX87 PCB, and everything lines up well, and there are no clearance issues in the case if you desolder the preattached mini USB socket.  So if you use the daughter board for the mini USB port and the supplied wires to provide the extension, I think it should work.  The daughter board is just a straight up signal line extension board, there's no microchip on it or anything like that.

theoretically yes, but tx87s are notorious for having issues if you **** with the USB port

something about how it's attached makes it annoying to take off, i've never done it so i can't give a definitive answer

I might be a guinea pig then to test removing the mini USB port from TX87 PCB and trying to use it with the extension daughter board for MOON.  Will report back when I try it (might be a while, since I'm going abroad in a couple of weeks and until late June).

I will try the long cable way with Pexon's cables with the middle disconnects. The only issue I can think of is, are there enough space inside the Moon to fit the USB connection head or I can work with Pexon to get it as small as possible to make it fit.

Anyways I will try this when zzjayfree finally ships my board. And what a great excuse to get m first fancy middle disconnects from pexon!

Unfortunately I've just put the kit away again and don't feel like unpacking it yet again (until it's time to do assembly), but the mini USB port might have some clearance issues with the plate (plate goes over it).  It could be okay to leave the port there, if there is enough room for the plate above it, and just put electrical tape over it.  Then attach the extension wires as jumpers, to the PCB, bypassing the installed socket.

I am also getting a TX87 pcb to try the same thing :D If I get to it before you do, I'll update with any issues that pop up!

It looks like my PCB is working and (hooray!) and I was able to flash the PCB following the "default" steps that FactoryDefaults was kind enough to post. Thanks again for doing that sir.

Everything seems to be working, however when I press a function key like "F1" it also registers the "1" key directly underneath it. Same thing for F2, it simultaneously triggers the "2" key, and so on and so forth down the row of Function keys. Same thing applies when I hit number keys on the number row. They trigger each respective Function key simultaneously.

Anyone have any clue what could be going on or what I did wrong? I'm totally stumped.

Has anyone successfully ported the PCB over to QMK? If so, how?
