The base set contain 13 new Roman numerals molds. These are R1 1u and hence can be used either in the Numrow or in the F Rows. The Macros introduce Roman numeral macros plus traditional dual colored F Row mods.

I might be wrong about this, but I think it’s so you could also use the Roman numerals on the f row. This is what I gather from the first KBDFANS MXII render at least. That explains the additional, more standard number row included in the base kit.

Yeah having everything would be expensive. I agree. The goal was to minimize cost for most people who dont need numpad support. This is always been an issue for any TKL bases.
The base kit at $129 is very competitive imo comparing to other sets running / ran.

It seems that the intent of the alpha colored 'XIII' is intended for if someone would like to use the Roman numerals on the function row, as the Roman numerals in the base kit are only alpha colored.

If someone was going to use the Roman numerals on the num row, there wouldn't be a conventional place for it, however, if someone did choose to use split bs, then that would enable the use of the 'XIII'.

I'm not a fan of the Roman numerals in the base kit, but this is my understanding.

1-13 --> reusability in F row. 14 could have been also added but no one wanted / mentioned it during the IC phase.

looks solid. definitely a strong consideration but not having numpad in base and being forced to buy 2 styles of numbers hurts for value b/c you won't even use so many of the keys

Not sure if it’s been pointed out before, but I’m pretty sure there’s a kitting error in the International Kit; the R4 key with : , (colon, comma) should be ; , (semi-colon, comma). I think this was an error that was propagated from a few other sets (I made the same mistake in one of my own).

Small Update incase people are wondering about numbers :

We are already way past the half way mark on numbers. So all kits should meet MOQ easily!
Sadly majority of the vendors have not yet updated any numbers so there is no point uploading something which is very old.

I would also encourage people who always need an international kit to check this set out! I am hopeful to see the international kit hit MOQ!!

I have no line of communication with them and their employees wont respond.
I dont think they have paid GMK for this set and neither they will pay.

I wish I had better news but atm, it seems chargeback might be the only option to get back your money and probably file a complaint. DO what you think is the best.

From the set perspective : Last time I talked to GMK, they said, the set would be produced late Aug/September and all work ranging from color matching to box design has been completed.
I am not sure how they will be handling the mechs and co situation but most other vendors have probably paid their money to GMK. Sadly GMK wont disclose these exact info to anyone :/

Again, I am sorry that I had chose them to be my vendor for the US market. Its very hard to have guessed that things would go south so fast.

I (perhaps like everyone else) don't know what is happening at Mechs & Co at this time, but back then they were great to deal with and always paid their invoice first without any issue.
Our artisans were delivered to Mechs & Co at the end of February.




I hope they will solve their issues and renew operations.

I've noticed some concerns on Discord regarding The Corinthian artisan not shining as depicted in the pictures and displaying a green coloration.

Our keycaps are crafted from genuine bronze, and similar to ancient bronze helmets, they will naturally develop a patina over time:



The keycaps were polished before shipment, as you can see in these images:

However, due to being stored in a boxes all over the world for over a year during delivery, the patination process may have initiated in some keycaps.

You can easily restore the keycaps to their original luster by using any bronze cleaning solution or giving them a light polish.

(Although patina may be desired by some. I have a bronze age spear and the patina is giving it all the ancient charm)
