I'm not sure who else will have things for sale but I'll have shirts. I'll take cash but honestly, we're all in front of computers at the con and you'll probably be on the forums after. Paypal works too.

i will have geeckers goods. what i have depends on what fits into my car. i'll take cash or an order on the store that i just refund the shipping for. i'll have some specials or something of some kind for attendees. paypal refuses to give me one of those swiper things because they haven't tested their thingamajig on a moto x, but what're you gonna do.

Just wanted to note that I'm coming out for this with the current iteration of the Cooler Master NovaTouch TKL in tow so you can get some hands on and I can get some feedback. Carter sends his regards (and confirms my words http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=60209.msg1391112#msg1391112 )

Not going, logistics etc., but the kind of presentation you guys mentioned above (7 slides, 10 slides) could be called a "lightning talk", where someone is given an opportunity to speak for maybe 5 or 10 minutes only.  This was done at a software conference a while back (can't remember which one), and anyone could register to give a lightning talk on any (related) subject they like.

Maybe it would be an idea to invite any participant to give a lightning talk - vendors could briefly describe new or upcoming products, members could describe their favourite keyboard, artisans could give a little insight into how they work their craft.

As I said, not attending, so I haven ot been following the discussions, and apologise if this has been mentioned before.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Mines 20 slides with videos. I planned on a 20 to 25 minute talk. And just because a PowerPoint has little slides doesn't mean the talk is short. Imo, that's better. The audience should focus on the talk, not reading PowerPoint.

I'm heading to Red Rock Coffee now. Once in Mountain View, I'm basically stuck there until someone with a car gets me out since I'm otherwise on transit. I could probably get to downtown San Jose in a reasonable about of time but if y'all stand me up at the CHM I'ma be  :(

Just picked up six 8' folding tables and some folding chairs so everyone will have a flat place to show off their keyboards!  And sit.

Also, yes, we have an Expobar Office Lever Plus plumbed with filtered water and a few custom blends from a small roaster who takes good care of us.  And a pair of grinders.  And a backup Gaggia in case of equipment failure.

We also have a prosumer K-cup machine with assorted coffees, teas and other pods.  Plus cases of sodas in the fridge.

So you will NOT run low on caffeine if you didn't get sleep!  (Decaf is available in all forms as well.)
