resin keycap based on an existing cap

does it make sense to add resin onto an existing abs/pbt keycap base, like grinding it down a bit?
or is it better to make it from 100% resin?

Or, maybe I can use a  relegendable keycaps, or the inner part of a double shot key cap. Any other parts I can use as a base?
