I've updated the main post with an ortho kit.
I'm not too versed in what is popular so I have text based modifiers except for the backspace key because the word "Backspace" would need to be split onto 2 lines which I thought looked odd.
Let me know what you think.
In that case, would you consider making it a combined 40s/ortho kit? Hit me up if you need assistance on what keys would be most useful.
Would you be able to list them for me? I mgght add it depending on how many extra keys it would require.
Most important basics would be:
- R1 2,25u and 2,75u spacebars
- R2 1,25u Tab
- R2 1,75u Enter
That covers vast majority of the 40% keyboards using the "standard" 12u wide layout (AMJ40, Candybar etc.). Rest of the neccessary keys are already in either the base or the ortho kit. If you wanted to also support some other keyboards, then on top of that you'd need:
- R2 1,25u Enter for the MA42, UT47, Tanuki
- R3 1,75u Backspace and R2 1,5u Enter for the Minivan and it's variants
- on top of that R1 1,75u spacebar for one of the Minivan layouts and for Vortex Core
- R2 1,5u Enter for the Daisy and Pearl (Pearl also needs a second R2 1,5u for Tab)
I'm not taking into account "wrongly" legended keys, e.g. if you'd need a 1,5u R1 Shift, then you can just slap a "Super" in there and it's fine, priority is on row profiles. Overall it's 10 keycaps to cover absolutely everything I can think of, quite a stretch from the current 26 key ortho kit. If you could include at least the base 4 and then one or two of the "even weirder" boards, that'd be awesome. I tried sorting them by potential audience, since UT47 and Tanuki just finished successful GBs (and it's just one key) and Minivan is always in stock and fairly popular. Hopefully I haven't forgotten something important or made some blatant mistake.
