remeber old Apollo workstations?
« on: Sat, 05 December 2009, 12:58:52 »
Long long ago, I used Apollo workstations that ran something similar to Unix. This   would be around 1989.   I'm not sure if it was before or after HP bought them, but you can read about them on wikipedia.

They had these keyboards I really liked.  The keys themselves seemed to have a  soft rubber coating.  You could feel when you pressed them enough, but they made only a slight muted sound.  I could type very fast on them.

Anyone know if there are keyboards like this available for modern PCs?

Thanks.

I tried looking for pics of these, but there was nothing detailed that would allow me to figure out what type of switches the keyboard had.

All I can suggest is that you try and get your hands on one and post pictures of the switches. Someone should be able to recommend you a suitable PC compatible replacement.
