In one review I saw, it looks like they also have the 'pair with 3 things and switch between them' bluetooth for wireless.

I can attest to that. I have been using the G403 wireless exclusive for half a year now. I still use it and haven't thrown it against the wall, which is saying a lot in my experience.

Have you hesitated between G403 and the G900?

G900 is the only wireless I would use. Not only is it accurate with no acceleration or spin out at any dpi, it SOMEHOW has lower latency than USB, and if the battery dies, you can just plug a usb cable in it and continue to use it.

I have a G403 wired, and love the shape. I originally had a 403 wireless before the 900, but it had a faulty scroll wheel. I traded it in and paid the difference for the 900.

If you want to use it for general mousing it will probably do quite well, in general Microsoft does wireless really well and makes good mice.

However,
Why is it tuneable, but NOT on the Surface with Windows 10s (the default os). This is the problem with Ms, they never properly follow through with anything the way they should. It will probably never die, and feel pretty good, but it will NEVER be great. I have never used an MS mouse that I didn't think had some serious flaw somewhere, be it the shape, the function, scrolling, lag... Something is always off. Not terrible mind you, just annoying if you are used to Logitech stuff. It also looks a lot like someone took an old pastic Mac laptop and a Emachine and squished them into a mouse.

And let's talk about that price... Nope.

Do yourself a favor and just go get a G403, Performance or Master. The 403 (and/or700 or 900) especially if you want to game.
Again, it's probably not bad, but it's not a gaming mouse, even reviewers are comparing it to the Performance and Master, not the G series, and that is a LOT to pay for a non-gaming mouse. Maybe MS will hit one out of the park, but my money is on it being a good "office" mouse and nothing more.

I find it a very bold move for MS to come out with such a high priced input device, especially after decades of creating commodity hardware and stopping production on the real gems like their trackball line.  I think it's a carrot  for the people who for some reason, buy stuff like this because of the 'impression' that it's somehow a cut above--like a mac is better than a pc, an audi is better than a mercedes, etc.  I've never understood the mentality of buying something because it somehow carries an 'aura' of being better--it either is or isn't, and is a good value or isn't.
