Also, never work with people who do drugs..  you want to talk about unreliable.. jesus..
I once had a boss who was an alcoholic and compulsive liar. Among other things, he hired people to be his entourage during his "meetings" at the local pub. A coworker spent a night in Chinese jail because of him. There are enough stories about this guy to write a book.

Chinese jail's not so bad...  It's the forced labor camps that you gotta watch out for.

Due to many play dates with BSD I have forgotten to work on the various non-work stuffs I've scheduled for the month (.files, an icon font modication, and other github type stuff). But, after reading what you guys are up to, I'd say my issues are pretty mundane. Good god(s), don't kill yourself(s).

Shine. All of it. Even. Uneven. It all looks and feels bad

Also, text only mods on GMK sets. Even if inspired by an SA set, it goes against the standards of the F.E.C.U.

Alright this isn't off topic but it still bothers me. I built a XD64 for a travel board and three of my switched are incredibly crooked. I've desoldered and resoldered them like three times and I get the same results. I feel dumb for not being able to get it right  :-[

Last time I had an issue with my logitech, it was something about an out of date driver or some setting in the software

Apparently red wine figures to about 1 carb an ounce, meaning about 25 carbs per bottle.

So drinking 2 bottles of red wine on St Paddy's day threw me out of keto.   >:D

Guess it's stick to the hard alcohol from now on.

Tp4 prefers leek or green onion or scallions ..

but tofu is to taste, there's no right/wrong..

They also make vegetarian hoisin sauce, so give that a try too. 1

I noticed in their support 'community' a Logitech employee was replying to threads from December asking if people had found a resolution to their problem(s) yet....

So it would appear they are months delayed on their support queue.....

Faculty members keep wanting Anaconda but the install doesn't play nice with the fact that no one gets admin privileges.  So we install using admin credentials but it sets all the paths to the admin user profile which users don't have access to.  Now I'm having to use my own computer as a test bed so I can figure out how to set this up so that everyone can access everything...  This is almost as bad as the exchange students downloading cracks for licensed software to use on their school computers...

Need to see if the professor can use the anaconda CLI to open Jupyter rather than Anaconda Navigator because Anaconda Nav is a royal pain in the ass to work and I'm going to guess that it's button paths aren't working because clicking "launch" under JupyterLab doesn't do anything however opening the CLI and typing in "jupyter lab" opens it right up with the right location and everything...  Also everything is run by opening a python prompt and executing scripts that point to the corresponding .exe.  For example, the shortcut to Anaconda Navigator in the start menu opens a python command window that then calls "anaconda-navigator-script.py" that has maybe 5 lines in it essentially just executing "anaconda-navigator.exe."  I think it's to preserve user folders since it's supposed to install in the user profile but I don't really know.

Overall it'd be much easier to just install whatever version of python the professors want, install pip and tell them to download whatever packages they need that way rather than downloading a 4.6GB manager where they'll only use abt 10% of it's included packages, maybe.

Did that the other day, no response.

But I just used gohuman and after ~20 minutes on the phone I should have a replacement in a week or so.

At first she was like you called Microsoft right? And I'm like umm why would I do that? :facepalm:

I asked why no response on the website and she was like they've got a queue they'd have gotten to it eventually.

It's 2018 and still apostrophes still seem to be a problem.

- Plural? End in s: Cars;
- Possessive? End in 's: Steven's;
- Possessive of a plural already ending with an s? Add a ' : Babies'
- Possessive of a word already ending with an s? Add another 's: James's.

There was something else I wanted to add but I forgot it. I guess that's bothering me too. A meta-bother, if you will.

Was it another grammatical bother? I see it all the time but rarely call it out as I'd feel petty..

All too frequently its the improper use of your/you're and their/there/they're

Their their now..

No one knows all the rules, so it's seen as hypocritical to point out grammatical errors, because sooner or later everyone slips on something..

It's 2018 and still apostrophes still seem to be a problem.

- Plural? End in s: Cars;
- Possessive? End in 's: Steven's;

I'm guilty sometimes! Usually fix it unless I'm in the mood to not care. A lot of people hear type really fast so its an easy mistake to make

The apostrophes bother me more than most - it ****s up my reading rhythm, like a speed bump on the road.

Their/there/they're is a smaller bump and tolerable. Apostrophes make me metaphorically hit my head on the roof.

I see it all the time but rarely call it out as I'd feel petty..

... which is why I'm sharing in this safe space of Complaindom. I'm not a monster.

One more bother: ETA was 22nd. Instead MD took two days to give FedEx the box, and another aeon of transit time through probably each of the United States. Here's to the 31st.

I get this too, then I stop reading and mentally rewrite the sentence so it makes sense.  Then try to keep reading the document, by which time I've more or less forgotten what the previous sentence was leading up to.  So I go back and read that one again, and have to rewrite it again.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

The loss of than is another grammatical one that gets to me, as in the sentence 'I like sheep more then cows' - completely breaks any flow as it becomes nonsense so I have to re-read to check it's not me reading it wrong.

I recently read a book by two authors (non fiction) where the first half was fine but the second I was spotting a mistake every couple of pages.  If the author can't write properly and doesn't have the pride in their work to get it checked before publishing can the content be trusted?  Ironically it was a book on living with Autism with a whole chapter on communication issues (thankfully in the first half!)

Are they teaching then is the same as than now ?

IMHO, it's close enough that they should do it this way..

Like how they teach kids to use capslock instead of shift..

It's really close enough.

Close enough as in a 75% accurate spelling?  If I get 75% in a test I consider that poor, and that's a proper test not a spelling test for common short words!

Meaning wise they're completely different - than is used for comparisons and then for the next item in a sequence, anyone writing a curriculum where these are interchangeable should be dismissed for gross misconduct.  No idea whether it's taught or English/American kids are just stupid as I don't recall one ESL user making this mistake. (And yes dyslexic people get a pass - it's only in an otherwise perfect paragraph it irks)
