[Ebay] Realforce 87u 55g - Black
« on: Tue, 22 September 2015, 09:31:43 »
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Topre-SE18T0-Black-Keyboard-REALFORCE87UB-55-Numeric-USB-Wired-Connection-Japan-/111778667455?hash=item1a06871bbf#shpCntId

Just a heads up, Ebay has a RF 87u 55g in black -- Buy it now for $262.99 with free economy shipping from Japan.  Its a bit pricey, but given how tough RFs have been to find lately  :-[, I figure it is worth posting.  I am not sure how long economy shipping from Japan to US East Coast would take, but I am probably going to continue to wait it out for EK to get more RFs in stock.  I figure I can get it quicker from EK and if there are any issues it would be easier to deal with EK than a Japanese ebay store.   However, figure I would let others know in case they were interested.

I have been eyeballing the Japanese Type-S one. I just want to harvest the 55g domes and the Purple Silent sliders. Idk if $300 is worth it though lol.

If I could fine one for about $250 I would probably gobble it up. Exchange the sliders and domes in it then re-sell for like $150.

Is EK's $215 the standard price? I'd rather wait for that price if and when EK gets more in stock.

Says 27$ shipping for Norway, so it might be even cheaper for the US.

Same board is about USD$254, including express shipping from Australia.

It'd probably still be cheaper to use a proxy service, such as Tenso or White Rabbit Express and get one from Japan directly. The last thing I ordered from Amazon Japan through such a service, it took exactly one week from the time I placed my order, so that included transit from Amazon to the proxy.

Thats pretty fast, I assumed it would take much longer than that.  Now I am wondering if its worth waiting for EK to restock.  I calculated the price of ordering from Amazon Japan with all costs at around $210, which is cheaper than EK's $215 price with another $10 bucks for shipping.

I should clarify that I chose EMS as the shipping service to get my items from Japan to the US. It honestly wasn't that much more than Air Mail, and it comes with tracking.

Hi all - Wanted to chime in as I have a literally 1 hour old 87u 55g Black on eBay/Amazon right now.  Just too heavy for me - Knew it right away and can't return it.

I would have posted it here in Classifieds but I'm a new member and can't post there yet.

Edit:  SOLD

From the looks of EK, they should be restocked with 55g realforce's in a week and a half.

I grabbed one. (I paid $27 shipping. I guess it depends on where it gets sent to.)
There's one left!

Note: I spotted another 87UB-55: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252035149841?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
($271.97, FREE Standard Int'l Shipping)

Also, thanks Aengus :D

There's nothing wrong with cake

Maybe if digi checked first with his insurance company when he was going to Bucake's Party, then they would let him know that he'll be covered  ;) .

More

edit: cheers rowdy!

OT: yesterday it said $27 shipping, today it says free :/
i messaged him about it to hopefully get a refund for the shipping cost i've paid, but i'm not sure he'll understand my message. because here's his:
"Thank you for me to buy goods from me.
When you are ready ships.
Please a little more wait until the arrival to the product."

gotta love that communication.
(also, he upped his stock and now has 3 available.)

edit: he's replied he wants to refund the $27. he sure is quick with his replies!
edit: he's already refunded the $27! what a great day ;D

Spoiler tags don't, but you can use "more" tags.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
