Terminal Keyboard: Digital LK201
« on: Fri, 11 December 2009, 20:25:00 »
Hi Guys,

Did anyone use this keyboard ( Digital LK201 ) before? It uses a RJ11 ( telephone-cord ) connector. From wiki, I get this keyboard is supposed to be attached to DEC VT220 terminal. And I donno the structure of the key.

See the pictures below:

I think you'll find a few references in the "worst keyboard ever?" thread. IIRC these are precisely the ones with an awful reputation. Maybe they even are the kind of board that DEC got sued over in the '90s (RSI).
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

I believe those are rubber dome keyboards.  And if they're anything like the LK401 -- which I believe they are -- then they're very stiff rubber domes that are awful to type on.

Linear membrane switches with very short travel. They're so mushy that it's almost impossible to know when you've bottomed out, so you  need to pound on keys to make sure you get a good response.

It's a shame, because DEC's VT100 keyboards were pretty nice.

Details anyone?
