[GB] GMK Blue Alert - Fulfillment from OCO

Hi,

Back in 2013, Originative made a set called Olivetti. They used U9 and CP for the alpha base and V4 for the legends. I want to bring this set back, but in colors I like. The colors we will be using are U9 for Modifiers and L9 for Alphas. The legend will be V4. I also decided to add support for a Row 5 and 1800 compatible layout.

A similar set was produced by Olivetti, an Italian company who produces typewriters and mechanical keyboards. They used Cherry Molds to produce the keycaps for their Cherry board, but they are now some of the most sought after keycaps.

Blue Alert (we originally named it Olivetti) was one of the first two keysets we ever made. I'll be posting some pictures of them from time to time. The original set had a odd Tab key and a Windows XP style logo.
The price at $145 is if the group buy reaches 100 units. If it hits 100, then we'll pay out of our pockets to help push this group buy forward. If the group buy hits 150, then we'll refund $10 to every user.

Will they be a good match for the EnjoyPBT blue set? They are regular beige and Grey, unlike the 1980's real Olivetti OG Cherry which is not beige but Grey, and dark Grey. Also the enjoyBPT has bright blue dyesub opposed to dark muted blue?

They will look far better than EnjoyPBT...It's double shot so the legend is far better. V4 blue is very vibrant on its own. This isn't a muted blue whatsoever. U9 and L9 match 9009 in terms of color. In real life they look amazing.

Not sure why I keep seeing people say they compare this to EnjoyPBT hahah. The two are so different and colors from GMK are just better. Their tooling is unmatched.

Dyesub might be straighter and more consistent letter width, but not nearly as crisp as double shot. Personally I prefer double shot despite the downsides to using old ass cherry molds.

So we were actually short by about 80. I was willing to purchase if the numbers hit 80.

We only hit 75 total, but I this was one of the first keysets we ran so I like to make the set happen again!

I would imagine that all updates will now be from Sherry. Likely they will be made through the Originative newsletter. That is generally how he makes updates regarding the sets. I've pm'd him earlier this week requesting an update as well.

Price goes up as buy goes forward... $145 is the cheapest you'll be able to get it from here. I suspect this set will go for $180 from oco once the buy is done, and probably $160-200 on /r/mm and classifieds.

Why they haven't been able to let us know before the date it was supposed to ship, and what were the reasons for such a thing who knows, but hopefully the delay will only be a month.

I'm not sure what kind of research went into determining the colors, but that's not so important since I like blue alert more than true Olivetti...
