The black version of the Simple case have slightly rounded corners and edges. Is that specific to the HHKB-layout or will it be available for the regular version as well?

That's not a HHKB-simple case. That's an actual HHKB Pro 2. Zoom in on the photo and you can see the print.

Just to clarify what everyone is seeing here, the FJELL HHKB's plate seems to be Case mount. There are grooves within the inside edges of the case for the plate to rest on, while the tabs are to hold it in place.

Think of Kin's TX boards. If you have one, you'll know how solid of a typing experience it is.

At first I thought it was only held by the 6 tabs too, until LeandreN pointed out the inside edges of the case.

I don't think there will be any ping at all with the case.  :thumb:

If im incorrect LeandreN, please correct me!

Edit: Overall, this will be the ''must get!" of 2017. Amazing work, LeandreN!  :thumb:

Looks nice, but are you sure 4 mounting points will be enough? That's why the pingmaster is so loud.
I think there are 6 mounting points (one on each side) but this is still a good point. I was wondering if a seamless side would be possible.

It is 6, I was wrong. I'd go for 8 personally, but 1) I'm not designing this board and 2) I don't know much about designing boards in the first place.

It's a case mounted plate, so it should be fine. Similar to the TX board plate style.  :thumb:

The 6 tabs are just to hold it in place, I'd assume.

Any chance the FJELL plate can accommodate split space bars? And perhaps even a dxf file for ALPS also?

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Soon ready to prototype the top mounted "HHKB"-style FJELL. I will probably start working on making the simple case available, I don't want to limit it, so I will do a small design update and then get it out for people to get their hands on, how I will do that is still in the works.

Thanks.

Fjǫr is a cool sounding word that could be used as a name - mostly means "life" in Old Norse but I guess the added complexity of the caudata on the "o" might be unnecessary stress for people when trying to google or search for the case unfortunately.

Fjord is a little too uninspired, in my opinion.

Its not meant to be a replacement case for your actual hhkb, it's still going to be a 60% case for Cherry MX PCBs, just with blocked corners so you can use the HHKB layout

"Kvasir" as in the Norse god of inspiration. Or "Njord" because it's close to Fjord but you mentioned you already had an upcoming project under that name.

Will you be offering the same colors for round two, or are you considering a wider selection?

The idea is to have this case higher profile than other cases so you cant see the gap.

I really like the idea of the high quality 60% kit if it is something you will be keeping in stock. It would be very nice to see a premium kit available in perpetuity for those in need of it quickly or if there isn't any good GBs going on. The Fjell V2 is looking just as amazing as the original, really hoping I can get in on one if my finances line up with the GB. Also if the HQ 60% kit is something that is regularly available I'm sure I'll end up picking up 1 or 2 of them down the road. Thanks for the update LeandreN & keep up the good work!

Oh, BTW the 2nd shipment of krytox mix made it to me. I sent you an email to let you know. Still a no go on the original package unfortunately, pretty sure that one is just straight up lost at this point. Probably stuck under the seat of a mail truck or something stupid like that I bet. If it does show I will let you know. :thumb:

Excellent, I only ask because in the 3rd pic the gaps are quite visible on both cases.
