The TV makes it look so easy...

Guys always just easily picks up the female.. 

Then the Subsequent plot advances off screen where he's also managed to cross a rather large distance ..


Adult females are at least 100lbs a piece..     If anyone's tried lifting a CRT TV back in the day, it's like 2 of those..


Ridiculous.. !!

You really should be able to deadlift 150lbs

Are you elderly or have some bone density disorder?

Deadlift 150 is VERY different from walking around with a 100lb irregularly dense object for any lengthy distance.

The local police force used to (maybe still do) have an acceptance test that involved moving a 200 pound dead-weight dummy, simulating a passed-out drunk. This was considered the hardest physical test, and not everyone passed even if they had good physique.

200lb for sure .

but my point is even at 100lbs .  It's already not easy to balance let along move any meaningful distance.

Average weight for women in the US in 2016 was 168 pounds.
Carrying somebody over the shoulders is deceptively easy partly because of the low center of gravity. I use to routinely carry  two 94 lb sacks of cement over my shoulder and people thought that was impressive   Compare that with someone  fireman carrying that weight: pretty routine.
I agree with TP thought when referring to the “over the threshold” carry.
