So what you want to do is have a button to ignore select threads?
Or do you want a "Mark as Read" button that works for only the most recent post at the time you pressed it?

I want the same thing!

When I review all unread threads, I often see pages and pages of threads. After scrolling down a page, it would be awesome to mark that page of threads as read.

Otherwise, I have to go through all pages and then mark them ALL as read.

No, I want a button to mark the 30 or so threads on the current page as read. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't wish to ignore them (at least not as much as the one time that I click the button to mark them as read) and I don't wish to do it one post at a time.

Example: I click on page 97 of unread topics. There are 17 topics on this page. I middle click on 9 of them to read them. The other 8 I see as irrelevant at the moment, or I don't wish to see them. I would then click Mark this page as read, and move on to page 96. Wash, rinse, repeat.

In practice when I click to go to the first unread post from the unread topics page and then F5 the page that post I clicked goes away....so if you had multiples posts/pages then would you miss some by marking page as read without refreshing?

This is exactly how I go through the unread threads. If you can get through all the pages quick enough then marking them all read isn't an issue. However, if I get pulled away and come back, I have to start all over because there are surely more posts that have been added since I last looked at the page.

Great idea esoomenona!
