When ever I'm using my slimblade and I hear a creak in the household late at night. I'll grab the ball and think,

"Man I could definitely crack someone in the face with this"

I'll just have to be sure that it isn't Santa.

The top floor/roof structure of my house is made of wood... it creaks a lot at night as it cools down. So I generally don't think much of creaks in the night.

Could be seen as a pro for trackballs though lol, weapon to defend yourself against attackers conveniently sat under your hand. I can't really think of any other peripherals or parts of peripherals that I'd feel comfortable using to defend myself - don't want to break them.

i think you need to buy a baseball bat, as do i since i last time i heard a weird noise the most painful thing i could pick up to hurt someone was 10lb weights. (in my mind was practical, the 5lb wouldn't do as much damage!)

I used to have a Shinai, till, well I snapped it over someone (training, honest :P).

Thought about getting myself a Bokuto, but haven't really gotten around to it (and wasn't really a priority while I was in Japan).

In worst case, a pencil is plenty good enough, plenty of painful places. Meh, done too much martial arts for my own good. Sadly, I could probably develop some techniques using a keyboard as an efficient lethal weapon...
