M60-A
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The M60-A represents the benchmark and equilibrium between function and design for us at Rama Works. The gently exaggerated design of the frame is not understated, but rather provocative. Inspiration and evolution from previous models are evident in the beautifully articulated design and the well defined aesthetic, the fingerprint of our ‘Industrial Modern’ designs. The M60-A offers a unique contender in the traditional 60% form factor.

Expertly milled down from a single piece of solid brass & aluminium to it's final shape, hand polished to a mirror finish & beadblasted to a high grit finish, then PVD coated or anodized to the perfect color.

In an effort to provide the best end-user experience available, this board requires no soldering to construct with any Cherry MX-compatible switches. The M60-A offers a USB-C connection attached to the USB Extension PCB. There will be additional PCBs also available for individual sale. The board includes in-switch RGB LEDs under the PCB, which require no installation. PCB design by Wilba.

There is also an optional interior weight for extra heft. The optional interior weight is a beadblasted brass weight which has been PVD coated. The weight adds some extra stability to the exceptionally solid build of the M60-A weighing altogether close to 2.3kg (1.6kg without the additional weight)

There's a slideshow on the info page of the M60-A with various sets & colors :)

F yeah. I'm so pumped!

In for two dark grey and interior weights. The other colors looks great but i want to be able to freely match with keycaps.
What colors did you guys get?

I think he is still waiting for the pcb, he mentioned several times elsewhere that he'll do stuff like that once he has it!

More and more people have been reporting issues with the pcb on their M65-a boards.  My best guess is that it is related to the other thing people are reporting. Static shock.

I was convinced it was because of the nylon base causing buildup quickly, and it might be.  But what about the silicone feet?   I was reading that rubber silicon can be conductive or not depending on how it’s made.

Just wish there was a better answer for how to not fry you $400 keyboard other than remember to discharge before you sit down or run a humidifier

This is not isolated to Rama’s projects.  It happens with all of my aluminum boards.  It just happens more with my m65-a

Would using tiny rubber gaskets to stand off the plate from the top case do anything to prevent the ESD from ruining the PCB?

Would imagine you need them on both sides of the plate to not conduct through the screws. If so you wouldn't be able plug the USB seen as its hole is cut tight.

Maybe one of the green sets like Camping or Coniferous. Or you could go with something more muted like 9009, Classic Retro, or Muted.

Haven't heard of any issues with Wilba's PCB's (who designed the M60 PCB) - including the Planck's with metal enclosures :)

Oh man, it sounds amazing - even without the PCB - but just waiting on until I get the full kit w/ PCB to post a typing video so all the proper resonance is there - will be tweaking internals if need be :)

There is also an optional interior weight for extra heft and resonance.

I'm confused by this

Sorry, that should be reduced - as there is less air-room - not that it makes a ton of difference - still need to get the mic out and record a through samples with/without

I dont know if Rama has some himself, but there was a post on reddit last week, from guys who are making carrying cases. They follow the new releases and you can ask them weather the keyboards will fit, for example the m60-a would fit the 65% as it’s a little too big for the 60%.

I have some questions, does the felt lining as shown on the early render on Instagram gonna be there? It's very nice add. And does the extra weight really matter? I've never used a keyboard that weights more than 800g (1.7lbs), I read that M60-A weights 1,5kg without the weight so it's heavy enough but i don't know, the extra wight seems nice to fill the chamber.

I believe the felt lining has been removed since it hasn't proven to make much of a difference. The weight is completely optional and up to you. I personally like more heft so I'll be opting for the weight!

We have to do some further testing once the PCB comes in, but without we've found no difference as the sound with the 4.5MM integrated already sounds really great - but if necessary it will be included if a difference can be deduced :)

Yep! The extra weight is for people who need that something more, without it it's still decently hefty!

Since I can’t seem to see it mentioned anywhere, does anyone know if there’s a projected timeline for manufacturing and shipping? Would something like the end of the year be a fair estimate?
