Damn... the moment you realize that no one, including yourself, didn't realize all through the IC and GB that a key is in the wrong row...

(JD45 has landed - pro mods 1.25 tab is accidentally R2, and there is no 1.25 R3 key of anything in any kit... AND SP is out of R3 TBN blanks).

Did anyone ever grab one of these I could buy??

I would say check the Amazing chocolatier set that will be coming up, as the mods are TBN, but it looks that they don't have a R3 1.25u tab.  You could buy the novelties and get willy wonka 'w' for your tab spot as it is the correct profile and size...  And at the very least after that set goes through, PMK should have more TBN blanks in stock.

And coincidentally, anyone who got the PETSCII Alphas from Retro, and would like to buy mods for them so they can have a full set, the chocolatier set has been split to alphas and mods, so there is a nice matching set of mods, both in base and legend color that can be bought to complete things out (well minus those pesky 3 missing 1u keys).

Were row 4 shifts ever ran for SA Retro or is Chocolatier going to be my best bet?

Not yet, but I heard they will be offered in the future by SP directly. At least, that was the latest when the molds were made.

I think I've seen R4 shifts for pulse, selectric, and jukebox on PMK - but retro was a relatively small buy so who knows if they'll run it without prompting.

Hey bunny, I'm still missing my Lime keys from this GB. We've been in contact on and off over the past year and each time you tell me it will get sorted and I'll receive my keys but up till today I'm still waiting. You asked me to create a support ticket which I did... and my last reply to the ticket received no response. You also asked me to PM Tym about the keys to which I received no reply. My last PM to you also received no reply. All of this was over a month ago. I think I've been more than patient considering it's been almost a full year now and I've tried my best to support you guys by joining the JTK Sophomore GB as well.

Sorry for having to post this here but I'm not sure how else to contact you. I appreciate what you're doing for the keyboard community by arranging these GBs and I understand having to wait for GBs and normally I'm pretty good about it but at this point I'd just like to receive a refund if that's OK with you. Thanks.

Ha ha, yeah; this thread often gets forgotten compared to the other sets, so just thought I'd give it a little bump.
Excited to get the missing kit.  :thumb:

I haven't seen anything about an R2.

I'd say there probably won't be one until CTRL.ALT sorts out their current projects. Even then, I wouldn't expect it.

There are a lot of people very interested in a rerun, but it all depends on Matt3o. I'll be ready to buy in a heartbeat if it ever runs again.

We tentatively set a release date for round 2 in Summer 2018. It might very likely be postponed but at least you should know that we are in the right state of mind to re-run it.

This is fantastic news! Will it be a group buy starting in Summer or will it be a straight to stock sale like Nuclear Data R2 seems to be heading to?

I agree that the side-print SA Retro looks amazing.  Just not a fan of typing on such a tall profile.

I do wonder if JTK could be the answer: they could maybe even do custom centered legends to match the original.

Speaking of different profiles, I think DCS profile for Retro could be worth a shot. Raindrop already has those larger legends than GMK/JTK fonts..

DCS is very thin.  Thick caps are so much more satisfying.  DCS used to be popular before custom GMK designs became accessible.

SA Retro is a (fabulous) tribute set for the C-64 keyboard and its spherical keycaps. Cylindricals are all wrong for that. They would just be a waste of good plastic.

Sure if you think of it as a more faithful reproduction of the original.  If you look at the colorway and legends as a design in itself, there's nothing wrong to translating it into a format a lot of people strongly prefer.  Technically the "original Retro" custom keycap set ran in short DSA format, though SA was available back then too.
