(Attachment Link)
Is this Baystate Blue? I don't know much about blue ink, but this one looks good.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

The ink is Mont Blanc - Lavender Purple

There's nothing lavender about it.  Very deep rich violet.

I quite like the falcon and the spencerian mod is nice, but I heard there were some problems with the increased flow with the mod.

And I dig the older watermans.  :)

I found the falcon a chore to write with in relation to its cousins with the FA style nibs which don't have the 'hook bill'

It's the most adorkably tiny thing that won't set you back $3k ever. (The Waterman 'Doll' is much smaller but if you can find one, expect to pay multiple thousands if it's even for sale.)

The pen for more information: https://newtonpens.com/thompson-orville-in-omas-arco-brown-hope-for-haiti-auction-live/

It's a pen Shawn Newton made from pen stock acquired from Omas after they went under as an auction pen with the profits going to charity. It was hideously expensive but the money went to a good cause and it's a gloriously beautiful pen.

I guess I am showing my age if I mention that ball point pens did not exist where I lived as a child. Pencils got sharpened with a single-sided razor blade, and the only pens were fountain pens with rubber squeeze bulbs. These tended to leak or explode at very inopportune times. Our school uniforms were stained almost daily with India ink. Maybe I will pick up a newer style pen and try it again. We did learn excellentpenmanship. If the teacher had to struggle at all to read your assignment or essay, it was an automatic 0 for the assignment.

Things have come a little way since then ;)

I love my fountain pens, even though I'm only at the bottom end of the scale.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I just got this beauty here today:

I have terrible Handwriting so I wont bother anyone with it, I got this pen more because of its unique mechanism. The 14k Gold nib writes buttery smooth tho. Mine is a M. Lamy Dialog 3 for anyone who is interested. I got mine for a fantastic price so I couldn't resist.

I just made an impulse buy. Nakaya naka-ai writer in the now discontinued ao-tamenuri finish. It will also be my first modified nib. It was way more than I think I should be spending on a pen, even though I did get a good deal on it. Now to keep practicing my bookhand...

My hand writing is terrible (always has been), but I feel better about it using fountain pens.

For some reason it's not embedding, so deal with a link.

I haven't used my Platinum Plaisir for 1.5 years. Opened it yesterday and the ink hadn't dried!

That's pretty sweet. I've been thinking about getting a pen with a flex nib for a while now.

Yes and it is INEXPENSIVE............under $20.00 for the pen too :thumb:

If you are leery for swapping it out send it to me and I will swap out free of charge. I have some extra Zebra nibs around here somewhere? It is not as soft as a gold nib, however as you can see the amount of flex is pretty sick as is. I recommend using Noodlers lubricated ink as well. The feed which is already ebonite in a Konrad or Ahab once altered and adjusted does well to keep up, is wet as compared to a plastic feed ;D

I put a Zebra titanium nib in a Waterman 100 pen that is pretty crazy too. The stainless seems to "give" a little more than the titanium and no corrosion to speak of for over a year-- albeit I stick to Noodlers Eel and Polar inks.

I picked up a #6 flex nib from that company in India and stuffed it in one of my Deltas.. great nib. Wish i could remember the company but its generic like Fountain Pen Factory or something like that. I have a Noodlers flex and its ok... once you spend the time to tune it up and hopefully get it to work right.

FIFY, but I only know because I've had the opportunity to meet Nai at a meetup. No offense meant to any parties.

Damn it; and I was going to edit it as S/He, too.
I would've gotten away with if it weren't for you meddling kids.
