I have rather industrial hands and large fat fingers. The feel on the above two keyboards is very nice to me. Many of you are more delicate and enjoy the Filco Browns or the Topre. I really want a Tenkeyless keyboard. My question is: Which one for my heavy hands? Is the SpaceSaver
the best one to look for? The linear keys on the DECK feel good to me.

EDIT: When I said delicate...I meant your typing fingers (no offense).

There is the FILCO Tenkeyless with Cherry Blacks. Deck also sells an 82 keyboard, which is pretty nice if you like the layout.

If you like Buckling Springs and can find a Model M mini, go for it. They're not easy to come by, though.

Well, I just purchased a Filco Tenkeyless with Cherry Blues, and it requires a pretty strong hand to handle the keys.

I don't mean to disrespect others' input or your decision making, but if you end up deciding on a Filco Tenkeyless with Cherry Blues, please let me know; it's now up for sale (only been used for a few hours - practically brand new).

Thanks for the advice. I certainly need more time with these two to know for sure but I do whack the keys pretty good. I've almost got a 3rd PC built just for practice and then will be sold probably. I've been looking at the Filco tenkeyless and the Space Saver (it seems rare and expensive). I don't quite like the layout of the DECK 82 key.

Blacks would probably be a good choice if you want something heavy.

For when I really want to work out my fingers I use an MY switch board. They feel completely different though, and most Geekhackers hate MYs with a passion (also means you can get them for cheap + doubleshots).

Well you could also go for some 55g Topres.

Hmmm sounds like you meant less clumsy =P

Honestly though I don't quiet understand your question. The qote I took from you above seems to imply that you have already tried them, so... which did you prefer?
Cherry blacks, and Model Ms are robust as are most other keyboards. Those basically have the most resistance if thats what you were looking for.

I guess I meant "robust" and "most resistance" as you say. So if I go for a Tenkeyless, I thought some of the Filco's might be too light which would cause me to bottom-out the keys too hard.

If that NMB rubber dome is representative of the average dome, it definitely shows the difference between those and the Topres.

I HAVE been looking at ricercar's IBM mini and am very interested in it. I've just spent about $240 on keyboards lately and I need to be careful. There is no one here to tell me "NO - you can't buy that". I may have to wipe the smile off my face when the credit card bill gets here....

Yes, it's a PS/2. Currently it has a mod with LEDs next to the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock, which I can leave or remove at the buyer's discretion.
