[IC] Reasonable65 - A 65% with macro keys and encoder knob

Reasonable65
Keyboard by ReasonableDude

I Loved the encoder knob of the satisfaction75 keyboard, and loved macro keys.
However, I felt like 75% was too big for me, So why not a 65% That seems a bit Reasonable?
Thus, the reasonable65 was created

The reasonable65 keyboard is currently in Development

Here is the current planned specifications of the Reasonable65:

= Hotswappable PCB
= Pre-soldered Encoder knob
= QMK functionality
= Centre usb-c port
= Top Mount
= 7 degree typing angle

Planned materials:

Case (top piece & bottom piece) = CNC Aluminium
Plate = Either, Brass or Aluminium
Weight = Brass

PLANNED PRICE : 200 - 250 (GBP)

CURRENT CHECKLIST :
Case (✓)
PCB (WIP)
Weight Design (WIP)
Manufacturers (WIP)
Vendors (WIP)

Any Feedback is appreciated! I will try to listen to the what the community wants! Thank you for stopping by,

Currently planned Layout:

HERE ARE SOME RENDERS! (PCB & KNOB are placeholders!)

Definitely interested in this. Please make sure to indent the USB-C port. It is the little things that matter. Good luck, I hope you can truly achieve the price you want. It seems very difficult to accomplish.

Always love the added functionality of the macro row, and the added nob is just icing on the cake. Was hoping for a solderable PCB for us split-backspace users though. Is that feasible?

Why can't the artisan space macro column have 5 rows?

I am thinking of having both solderable and hotswap options, but then i need to make changes to the plate, so depends on how many people want solderable, However, for the split backspace support, im planning on putting that into the default hotswap pcb, mirroring the functionality like gk61x, Thank you for your feedback!

I am trying to make usbc port indented, and for the price, i have discussed with some manufacturers, and if this keyboard gets enough interest, some have offered lower manufacturing price if there are 500 units, but right now i need to see their quality as I am going to order a prototype soon to see the quality.
Thank you!

Yes, similiar in design  to the split spacebar of gk61x pcb

I am thinking of also adding a solderable option for the pcb, but i would need enough people to want the solderable pcb

The Colours right now is soley planned to be black, but if this first one goes well, then it is possible to do a second run with different colours

How did you get to the price of 250 GBP?

You have no prototype, not even a PCB design so you can't possibly know what this board is going to cost to manufacture.

And I can assure you that you won't be able to make this for 250 GBP if you want half decent quality.

The reasonable65 has a reasonable price so far 200-250 sounds amazing. I need more renders to get a better opinion on this Keeb

Mounting post under spacebar, way too little information, no prototype, and yet you already know a price? Not to mention you let someone take your reserved slot...

edit: I apparently already replied to this thread, this board is so forgettable I legitimately forgot I replied here

has a good price so far and would consider ordering one, but i need more renders an would like the GB to be unlimited. wouldd liek to see some renders with some keycapsets like striker or red samurai as well as some alternative colours :thumb: :thumb:

He's not going to be able to make this for that price.

There is no prototype and not even a finished PCB design so this guy has absolutely no clue what this board is going to cost in manufacturing.
He just threw a random price he thought sounded nice into the room.

eh in terms of gbp it doesn't sound completely out of the realm of possibility all things considered, but i agree in the fact that people shouldn't put price projections out there without getting quotes and/or a prototype and an moq. i wouldn't say it's malicious but it's certainly not cool.

OP for further reference only give a price projection when you have quotes of your PCBs, cases, etc. and a general idea of what your markup will be when you sell. i get that it's enticing to throw out a price right at the start of an ic but without an actual proto in your hands doing that seems like you're setting others up for disappointment.
