More importantly.. What did you use for lighting/backdrop?

Seriously, that's an astoundingly good photo. Great job.

Its on my desk, which is a glossy grey. I put my iPhone on the desk near it with the flash light pointing up. Then I held a piece of white paper above it to bounce soft light on the cap, which also brightened up the glossy surface.

if only the screws on this weren't exposed, it would be perfect.

either way, it's a nice keyboard.

are you using the Sony 90mm lens?  Or some other lens with an adapter?

1980s-ish Leica Summicron M Mount 90mm. I use the Novolflex adapter. The Sony A7 series appealed to me because of how easy it is to use older lenses.

I do things as lazily as possible! Especially for tiny objects, you can throw something together quite easily, as long as your not beholden to a specific aesthetic.

haha cool.  what i usually do is shine my ipad and laptop with white screens to give somewhat even lighting without too much glare.  i really need to try this bounce the light off paper thing now. :)

Been researching macro photography lately and heard extension tubes were the way to go. Gonna have to definitely invest in some now.

Thanks!

here's an initial experiment, but not bad even with black.  now i have another light source type to play around with. :)

Just pink and clear acrylic, I didn't go with RBG LEDs underneath, that is just a 5v RGB LED strip underneath to see what its like with an underglow
