GPU Wars: 1070 or 1060, which one is better?

I think 1060 is better but my friends say 1070 will provide better quality.
Obviously it is the price difference that makes me like 1060.

What are your suggestions?
Should I go with 1060 or 1070 and what actually is the difference between the two?

I want to play latest games far cry, battleground, COD and more.

Currently I have

• Core i7 5th gen
• no external GPU
• RAM 8gb

are you strapped for cash or do you have disposable income to burn?

I avoid the x70 nvidia cards. They always seem to have more problems/quirks than the x80 or x60 cards.

The 970 was just a travesty, to be honest. Total cluster**** from Nvidia's side tbh.
770 was a beast though, real good for the price.
670 same.

1060 = best bang for your buck, in that price range.
1070 = best overall bang for your buck card, if you've got the money.

I play most games on high-ultra with a 1070 @ 1440p, 144hz.

All depends on resolution/refresh rate you're going for. 1080Ti for futureproofing

Once it does, the same people will be hyping up the next model and giving reasons for why you should hold off for it. Anyone still on the fence should splurge now then resell for 70% of the price in a year and get the newest one at the time. Rinse, repeat. Never fails.

I have a 1070 and I have not really used it's full potential. I mainly got it to future proof. Figured I could get at least 4-5 years out of it. I like it.

What Monitor are you using?
Standard 1920x1080 resolution with 60hz -> 1060 should keep you happy for one or two years.
If you re thinking about going 1440p, ultrawide, 4k, or 144hz+ head straigt for the 1070.

It doesn't makes sense to get the 1060 at all..

IMHO You should look for people selling 1080s right now..

and if you wait till VEGA,  maybe people would even drop 1080tis.
