Quick and dirty keycap puller
« on: Wed, 14 May 2014, 16:25:01 »
My office keyboard is filthy and I decided to "empty" it out during lunch...  Without a "real" puller around,  I built this from parts on my desk.  The paperclips are the plastic coated variety.  And 18 gauge wire.

Of course a real Geekhacker carries a (wire) keycap puller with them at all times.

All we need now is a pocket knife with a built-in keycap puller :))
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I used to do this all wired pullers are now bent.
This sucks more than anything that has ever sucked before.
