[IC] Design03 - Arctangent Keyboards - [Updated 1/31/2021]

Hello all!

Welcome to the Interest Check for the Design03! Arctangent back with an adaption to my previous release of a sculpted stacked acrylic case, the Design02 (65%).


General Information:

• Materials: Frosted/Matte Stacked Acrylic, 3mm thick layers, colors part of IC form
• Mounting Method: Sandwich
• Plate: 1.5mm thick, options/finishes part of IC form
• Compatible PCBs: ProjectKeyboards, Switch Couture X Mechlovin Adelais, SneakBox Alice, and other similar
• Typing angle: 6.5 degrees
• Mounts: 1/4" Diameter solid brass standoffs, low profile crews for top mounts, standard profile for bottom mounts.
• Weight built: 3.5 lbs / 1.6 kg

Brushed (Horizontal) = +$5.00

Add-ons
PCB: Expected to be +$50.00
Plate Foam: +$15.00

Sample colors of acrylic can be found below. Certain colors of acrylic have been used previously on the Design02 and can be found on either my website or Instagram, but to keep this post focused on the Design03, I will simply post the sample photos only.

I agree, Alice (and 65% layout I did previously) has been slightly overdone lately, but I wanted to try my hand at a more "complex" layout and I thought that the shape of the Alice layout complement my design style, or visa-versa.

I love this design of the Design03 and can't wait to get my hands on one!

I am not going to comment on the saturation of the market on Alice style cases, especially in terms of acrylic ones, but I do wish to address one small point. I do think that it would be best to reduce the difference in size on the top layers to make the curve on the sculpt a little less pronounced. This looks like it will just have harsh steps in between the layers
