Clipped leads??
« on: Sun, 16 February 2014, 15:52:02 »
So when you guys are soldering up a board what do you do with the clipped leads from LEDs and diodes?

Do you save them for trace repair or just throw away?

I've seen people post that they use them when direct wiring.

I have a bag of leads, but after a while you just have enough for a lifetime, so nowadays I just throw them away =)

Ideally you would collect any garbage metal you don't want and every once and awhile make a trip to a metal recycling centre.

I plan to solder mine together and add it to my huge blob of lead solder (I melt down and then refine the impurities out of solder that I vacuum out of keyboards and anything I desolder.)
