Did I miss it somewhere but when is R2?

Tweaking the darker purples a bit before approving them for samples. Once I get them on hand and everything's A-OK, a GB will launch. By the looks of it, maybe around mid-Jan.

Any chance at a stock tactile zealios at 60g or under in the future?

Not for R2, sorry.

What are the switch weights going to be for round 2?

62g, 65g, 67g, 78g

Count me in for 78g!

When is shipping planned? I want to try a 67g next to a 78g before I buy 100 of them; already have everything but 78g  :'(

Hi all

This is a long shot,  but I would like to test out the 65g and 67g purple tactical, I have a few spare of the 62g, so happy to either trade or I'll buy them off you.

Thank you so much in advance.

I had a 65g and 67g that I had bought to test out but sold them to someone for testing as well over on reddit.  They may still have them, but it was a couple months ago.

Hey Zeal, when will you restock the tactile zealios? ;D

Zeal is planning do another group buy with new switches. I believe the tactile ones will come in variants of 65g, 67g, and 78g with different shades of purple for the stem to tell the difference. I can't help on the date side of things but I know there won't be a "re-stock" of the first round.

Why are there no more 62g? I bought a sample pack and prefer teh 62g.

There are 4 variants but new stems for 62g, 67g and 78g I thought

I believe originally Zeal was thinking of dropping it due to lack of interest but it seems that for next round it will still be available

I have a few 65g tactiles from a failed project. If I don't have to guarantee the switches are functional on a board, I can send you a few if you pay shipping.

A lot of people (or so it seems) have said that the Zealios are Close to Matias Quiet Clicks, but I have just built my first QC board, and I have to say - not even close. Zealios are much more tactile, and while they're certainly the closest I've tried, they're still too close to browns.

Q1 for sure. It was supposed to launch mid January, but might end up happening around the end of January.

Tealios are cancelled until further notice. If I get a huge spike of orders for R2, maybe Gateron will consider it again.

Basically, in r1 all sliders were the same colors. Now the weight will decide the slider color.

R1 also only had up to 67g, and there were linear and tactile versions. It looks like this buy will only have tactile switches, and they go up to 78g.

Also, there appears to be a 65g version with a milky bottom, which will be more heat resistant, if you're concerned about the issues that some others had when they built their boards. Imo, it isn't necessary, but I also had zero issues with the r1 zealios.

Slightly difference share purple for each switch weight.

65g with milky bottom housing to withstand higher soldering temperatures.

Slight changes to prevent chattering switches.

Also R1 had linear switches, nicknamed Tealios due to the extremely boring non-purple colour.

Uh, pretty sure tealios were going to be the aristotle inspired aqua slider clicky switches. Considering clear =/= teal.

Awesome to see R2 happening so soon.

I really... REALLY wish there was an MX Brown equivalent of zealios.  These gritty cherry browns are mehh.

And I wish the milky bottom was also PCB mount.

Wait... Aren't zealios basically Browns with a larger tactile bump? (more or less. I realize the spring weight is different...)

Zealios are similar to ergo-clears which are basically clears with brown springs in them.

Lengradde: If you really want you could swap the stems out of browns and put them into the Zealios.

Most of the grittiness of browns comes from the molding of the stem and the lack of lube.  Zeal and Gateron are providing a solution for the clear/ergo-clear users (and linear in R1).  I wouldn't mind some brown love though. :)

Well there are several options that you could do...

1. Harvest some old browns that are much smoother than newer ones.

2. Buy Linear Zealios and put weaker springs in them or even the mx brown's springs.

3. Buy current browns and lube them, you could also lube the other options for even added smoothness.

I have browns from a NIB g80-11801 and they feel quite good. I didn't anything to them other than add a clear Gateron switch top.
