bunny update
« on: Thu, 22 October 2015, 17:58:21 »
hey guys, probably not the right place to put this but it does affect ctrl alt

as some of you may know me and my wife were having a baby

he was finally born yesterday after being 2 weeks overdue

there were some serious complications during labour and there were times where it looked like i may lose both my child and my wife

they are both fine but the babies heart stopped several times, and as a result they had to take some pretty extreme measures to get him out in hurry, because of this, my wife lost a very large amount of blood and it wasnt looking great for a little while there

he was born at 9.14 am on the 21st of october (back to the future day) and his name is mason

because of what was mentioned above and several other complications that happened, my wifes and therefor my stay in hospital is going to be a fair bit longer than expected, whilst we resolve some issues and both her and mason can get there strength back

the result of this is i wont be around at all for probably the next 2-3 days, and then will be on for very limited time for about a week after that whilst i am getting my family back to normal

i appreciate everyones patience for any delays in any projects i am involved in, and im very sorry for any inconvenience this causes anyone

thank you

bunny

Family >>>>>>>>> caps n ****.

Focus on getting the new munchkin and the wife better.  Hell, take a full  mental health vacation from this place and, if you feel like you have to keep people in the loop, send cody or someone else emails, text, PMs, whatever for updates and let them deal with the issues in the interim.

Bestof luck and well wishes for the health of everyone.  I've seen how rough times like this can be and you don't need any added stress.

Congratulations on the baby Bunny. Mason is a great name!

I'm sure the doctors will make everything right as quick as possible. Take your time and take care of your wife and baby. It is a very emotional time and new babies are always full of surprises. :)

I was wondering about baby Bunny! From what I've seen in my short time here, you are a pillar of the community and someone who constantly gives;  now you've been given the greatest gift of all. You don't owe anything to anyone but your family right now <3 go be with them.

Congratulations to you and your wife, on fatherhood, and all good things to come.

This is like the Geekhack version of the royal baby! Can't wait for you to "annoy us" with baby pics.

My 3-month old daughter came out with breathing issues and they had a NICU team in there for what felt like a half an hour, later they told me it was less than five minutes. It's scary stuff when the baby doesn't come out crying. But 3 months in, both mom and baby are doing great.

Congrats, man.

Only this Baby isn't a royal bludge on the British Taxpayer, that's the distinction you have to make clear here.

He is someone that is highly valued and needed at this time and I'm sure he shall brighten Geekhack when we all see him.

Well I was a little worried having not heard anything and so I've already been sending prayers your way. Will continue to do so, I'm just so glad that the wife and baby Mason are doing well. We all love you Bunny!  Please take all the time you and your family need.

We had a similar scare with our third (several weeks early, thought we had lost him several times). He's four now and is such a smart, funny, incredible little guy.

Congratulations BunnyLake and Mrs BunnyLake, and welcome to the world, Mason! :)

Absolutely the best wishes for a speedy recovery for everyone, but it sounds like you are in good hands.

Take as long as you like, sir, family always comes first, especially in situations like this.

Little bits of plastic pale into insignificance compared to the miracle of life, no matter how fragile it is.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

As someone else pointed out, take a time-out with your family somewhere not HOSPITAL - whenever you get the chance!

Glad to hear that mama and baby made it through. Will be thinking of you all, and hoping for full recoveries. Don't even think about coming back here until both are well.

Congratulations on your little bunny!

Wow, thanks for the update. Even if it's none of our business, I think a lot of us wanted to know how everything went.
I really hope the best to your wife and son, (of course to you too) and wish that the whole Bunny family gets to go home and in good health soon.

Right now you have bigger things to take care of than anything you could be doing here on GH or CtrlAlt. So please take all the time you need getting your family home and settled  in. This is an important time in your lives and you want to be sure to take in all in and not get distracted by us or anything else.

Mason is a great name too!

For now just give your wife all the support you can. Also don't forget to rest, because when the Bunny family gets to go home you'll need it.

Man I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Wishing your wife and little one a speedy recovery. Your responsibilities are firmly plated with your family, so take all the time you need and don't worry about us.

You guys will be in our hearts and minds. We are an ocean away, but if you need anything that I can help with just say the word.

Welcome to Geekhack!

An interesting thread to make a first post ...

Started reading like, "Yay! They had the baby!" then, "OH MY GOD! That's terrible!" then, "Ah. Well. It all worked out."

It's great to see everything is going well and you're headed home soon.

Maybe this extra strenuous birth will offset other things. For instance, maybe he won't be a public screamer, or won't cry all night.

Congratulations to you and the Mrs.!

Great news  :thumb: .

Don't go overboard with posting all your personal life on the web otherwise it could end up like another "Everlasting Episode" from UnREAL.

Certain things are best kept private, due to all the "Creepos" that now inhabit this virtual world, which quite frankly isn't safe nor comforting.  The best pics and videos you keep for yourself to share with your loved ones but for us strangers we don't deserve that type of trust because we are just that, complete strangers.

Glad everything went well, now comes the real hard part - being a full-time daddy and of course your wife's most perfect husband  8) .

Glad to hear the family's home now. Forget about your PMs for a bit and take the time to nap whenever you can :) You've probably been running at 400% this past week so you definitely need some time to yourself.

We'll be ready for your return when you are.

Glad everything worked out, I know how scary that can be!  My wife was in labor for 3 days then they had to do an emergency c-section to get our son out.. Take your time man.

Where the baby pics at?

Side note, your son was born on me and my wife's 9 year wedding anniversary.

That is great to hear. So happy for you guys.

Mason's job is to sleep, eat and grow. Mommy's job is to take care of Mason, and daddy's job is to take care of mommy.

You will learn the art of napping ANYWHERE. :)  Just hang in there, you will get your head above water in a week or two, don't rush it and enjoy it.

Nice one :)

It is difficult adjusting to having a child because just when you thought you had everything covered, the child changes.

hey guys, probably not the right place to put this but it does affect ctrl alt

as some of you may know me and my wife were having a baby

he was finally born yesterday after being 2 weeks overdue

there were some serious complications during labour and there were times where it looked like i may lose both my child and my wife

they are both fine but the babies heart stopped several times, and as a result they had to take some pretty extreme measures to get him out in hurry, because of this, my wife lost a very large amount of blood and it wasnt looking great for a little while there

he was born at 9.14 am on the 21st of october (back to the future day) and his name is mason

because of what was mentioned above and several other complications that happened, my wifes and therefor my stay in hospital is going to be a fair bit longer than expected, whilst we resolve some issues and both her and mason can get there strength back

the result of this is i wont be around at all for probably the next 2-3 days, and then will be on for very limited time for about a week after that whilst i am getting my family back to normal

i appreciate everyones patience for any delays in any projects i am involved in, and im very sorry for any inconvenience this causes anyone

thank you

bunny
