[IC] DSA Calc
« on: Thu, 16 November 2017, 09:26:06 »
This set was based off of my graphing calculator, a Casio fx-9750 GII.
It's not really a "popular" or "iconic" calculator, I just liked the look of it.
I chose DSA R3 because it kind of reflects the flat buttons of the calculator.

182310-0

Currently Working On:
- Modifiers kit. The colors are kind of the main focus so i'm not sure if I want to have a kit w/o them.
- Novelties. I'm thinking of something like sin cos and tan buttons, etc.
- A separate numpad kit. It is a calculator after all...
- Maybe things like big-ass enter, ISO, and spacebars. Let me know if you're interested and which ones you'd want

"Later this week" didn't really happen, sorry. Forgot it was Thanksgiving weekend.

Colors:
I tried to match the colors with the calculator as best I could. These are all ABS, so I'm hoping the white text won't be a problem with Signature Plastics, but I haven't researched that detail yet.

Black: Signature Plastics GB
Light Grey (fn row and arrows): Signature Plastics GSC
Darker Grey (other modifiers): Signature Plastics GD
Yellow: Signature Plastics YCF
Orange: Signature Plastics ON
Blue: Signature Plastics BFK
Dark Purpley Blue: Signature Plastics BFR

Edits:
11/16/17 - Added potential modifiers kit with big-ass enter and ISO enter.
11/16/17 - Changed numpad colors to something less overwhelming

Primary Kit
182312-1
Modifier and Enter kit
182314-2

Again, if you would like to see a different kit (Ergodox, spacebars, etc.) please tell me. Any feedback is appreciated and I'll gladly take requests!

That's a pretty neat design.

Suggestion: I would probably not make NUM LOCK orange, and instead make all the outer numpad keys gray.

Two out of the three "lock" keys are gray, but one (Num Lock) is blue. I'm not sure there is much value in making Num Lock different than the others color-wise.

I also wonder what it would look like if you switched the colors of the space bar and the the bottom row mods (other than Ctrl). The idea being that alphas would be black and mods would be gray (apart from the colored mods), which is considered the norm. I think it would still convey the concept quite effectively.
