TVS Gold - Translucent Caps from QTan - Clear Caps from SP - SA from SP
QFR - PBT from SP - Ducky ZERO
The only switch option is Cherry MX Blue. Layout can be seen in the pictures, it has 1.25 base mods with big-fat enter and split backspace.
This is a great board to cannibalize and harvest/farm Cherry MX blues from.

Form is up, you can place your order sir.

We're not doing the 'only the switches' thing anymore? I'll probably buy one or two anyway but that shipping kinda hurts.

That will be there, if TinLong can get those AliBaba dealerd to get a deal or otherwise my friend TheFlyingRaccoon will do a GB for that as well.
As far as shipping is concerned, in respect to the keyboard price it is slightly on the higher side, but for international, I don't think it is too much. I will head to the post-office and get an exact price nonetheless.
-
Shipping seems kinda steep
-
Add new shipping rates, and this is by Air, so should reach most places 10-15 days max
-
Maybe we could have a guy in singapore to place all the orders , So that shipping would be significantly cheaper
-
How much is shipping locally in Singapore for 1.5kgs approx.
-
What are the dimensions of the package?
-
Approx, 520x200x50mm
-
Around 10-15 SGD Using Speedpost next day shipping
-
Around 10-15 SGD Using Speedpost next day shipping
Assuming SGD10 = USD8 And each member orders 1 keyboard and there are x members
Shipping per board: [22+7*(x-2)+8*(x-1)]/x = 15
Thus, proxy won't be any cheaper, since I am shipping by Air, and tracked (At least until it leaves India, possibly after that as well).
-
Theres also a non standard mail option for $3.35 SGD.
Plus since singapore is relatively small, I might be able to meet up with the buyer at a train station
-
Are the $15 shipping to any location or would shipping to Cork, Ireland be more expensive?
-
I might be in for one of those! Will have to wait until i get some money from work tho.

MRT FTW! I stayed in Singapore for 3 years, was in Overseas Family School, stayed at Stevens Road :D

Shipping is same worldwide.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what I'd do with a keyboard with that sort of enter key.

Harvest switches, what else!
-
I just want the switches, not the keyboard.

I just want the switches, not the keyboard.
Too bad, you got to take both. I just don't have the time and patience to desolder too many boards, just did 5 for my own use and projects today. It is not fun.
Or wait for TinLong/Raccoon to set something up for cheap switches.
-
Very important with TVS keyboards: are these new? Looks like it, but I didn't see anything.
Desoldering takes a while. I think I'll be using my "cheap" iron for that, so as not to wear the tip on my "good" one.
If anyone wants to pay for extra shipping, I am sure I can desolder 5 or so of these for people.

these are brand new, I will be getting them from a physical store, they will be in brand new sealed plastic cover in box + packaging that I do.
BTW, why would you think that these are not new, just wondering, someone sold used ones before?
-
Will place an order later.
-
Yeh, there was someone selling trashed ones that probably were taken from the garbage heap on ebay last year. Plus I am sure the price makes people wonder, but they are made as cheap as a MX keyboard can be.
-
If we're doing the switches by themselves later, then I shall have to wait.

If we're doing the switches by themselves later, then I shall have to wait.
That's still in the "IC" section waiting on a few things ... including, if I follow it correctly, a forum member who is a native chinese, brokering details of the deal with the vendor who doesn't speak very good english.
MOZ, would you believe I actually want the whole keyboard? Not even for me, but for my wife ... who is a part time free lance writer and spends a lot of her time typing but has never considered that the keyboard might impact how she feels about her writing. I'm pretty sure she'll like notice and appreciate the benefits of the mechanical keyboard.
If not ... hey! free switches! (I'll be placing an order in a few minutes, but will have to wait several days to pay.)
So, if you're buying them from a physical store, and shipping sans-proxy ... does that mean it'll go out as soon as you get my payment, or will you be buying them all at once on Nov. 1st ?

Most probably in two batches, once around 10th and once at the end of the GB.
-
So I'll proxy for singapore?
-
I don't mind :D

I know, I mean the best of the best keycaps. Titanium? Pfft!
-
If i get one i actually plan to use it lol... weird i know but there is no other way for me to get a board this cheap in here :D
-
Only four orders thus far. Come on people, nobody likes cheap switches or keyboards?
Get those orders in. I have no problem with you guys having mini-GB in your own regions to save on shipping.
-
+1 order from me :)
Now if there was an equally cheap way to get 20ish reds and blacks...

TVS making keyboard too :))
I just know TVS Motors ;D

The shipping is prohibitive. Otherwise I'd get a second one just so if I screwed up, I'd still have a chance dismembering the "real" keyboard.
-
If there are 2 other like minded individuals in the Chicagoland area that want to put in an order for 1 ($41.66 per board shipped) pm me up.
-
It is funny cause we "international buyers" have to often bare even more charges and are told to swallow it up. If you need it, you need it.
-
It is funny cause we "international buyers" [...]
The irony is not lost on me.
-
Very tempted to get one of these if only for soldering practice and spare blue switches... Hopefully by the end of this GB I'll have a bit more money to spare and I can get one.
-
Would it be possible to cut this kb down to tkl size.
-
Would it be possible to cut this kb down to tkl size.
Like, with a hacksaw? I suppose ... but it might not send the right scancodes for the keys that were left. :p
I think the intent here, is you dismantle the keyboard bought here, buy a TKL/WKL PCB elsewhere, move the components from this keyboard that you like to the new board that you'll love ... and probably not do much with the hacksaw.
(unless, MOZ, he means "does TVS-e make a TKL-with-blues keyboard that's sitting on the shelf right next to these?" ... in which case my guess is no but you're the one down the street from the supplier...)
-
There isn't any TKL they have. TVS-e produces on and only one keyboard.
-
I am holding off my order for now because i don't have the money but when i do i will get one for sure :)

You can cut the case and PCB down to size, and repair the keymatrix, then glue the case together to make a TKL. several people on DT have done this.
I'll probably use mine for parts / throwaway KB. Who knows!
-
haven't heard anything for a while. Is this still on or did we not reach MOZ' MOQ?

Order period hasn't even ended yet lol.

Hahahaha.
This is happening, I promised it and said there was no MOQ, thus there is no MOQ.
We only have about 5 orders I think but that is fine.

MOZ are you positive that these are no counterfeit, that they are new, and not pulled out of a dumpster?
If yes, then I will be placing an order.
-
Trust me, this is the retail price, you can google it, it is just that you guys have been ripped off from ebay sellers so far.
-
Well right now this is the cheapest option for new full size blue board to harvest for sure, but i wish the price was a little lower, in the US amazon warehouse deals are very competitive to this price if you are looking for a board to harvest.
Anyways,
If your new to desoldering this is also a great board because you really dont have to worry about the PCB, if you want to do it quick you turn a high-wattage iron to max and beast-mode that thing and make it a work out and then chuck the remains in a dumpster.....er i mean approved recycling center
-
Alright cool I will place an order on this later. Thanks MOZ!
-
Just for people's satisfaction, this is an online highly reputable seller in India: http://www.flipkart.com/tvs-e-gold-bharat-usb-2-0-keyboards/p/itmdmesyegqzqgm6?pid=ACCD49ZDBHAYA2H3

+3 and first post!
GBs, or "Group Buys" are how it starts. Look at me, thirty some posts and we won't mention how much drool I've had to wipe up while looking over the classifieds section.
Only in for this and another, but ... this is how it starts.
(Welcome to the board, JiggityJane!)

2 are for friends who are reluctant to get their feet wet and 1 is for... experimentation.
I just bought a 66 key leopold as well. I am doomed. ;D

Hello MOZ, i am from India too and i am looking to buy this keyboard [from flipkart - the PS/2 version is not available in my area :( but the USB version is there]
Do you recommend this for gaming ?
1.Is there any difference between the PS/2 and USB version of it?
2.I heard that USB version has ghosting issues and doesnt support NKRO but the PS/2 does?
3.Can i use USB to PS/2 adapter [the ones available of 50rs] to remove the ghosting/keyblocking problems?
I play game called gunz where i need to perform many combos with many keys pressed at once
Can you tell me the USB version can simultaneously press how many keys i.e X-KRO ?
-
I don't think this keyboard is actually recommenced for use, thats why people are buying it too take apart.

If I recall it is 2KRO only.
For gaming you do want the PS/2 version, that being said I wouldn't recommend the keyboard. I would suggest you get the QFR in a switch of your choice, as it is the only viable option easily available in India. The other thing for you to do is you can get a keyboard from one of the online vendors or classifieds here on GH.

Thanks for the input. After knowing that it's only 2KRO [please confirm it once] i dont think it will be advisable for me :(
I want a good gaming keyboard under RS 2500 [I also type a LOT]
Preferably from flipkart [QFR is not available on Flipkart and also it's more expensive than 2500?]
Can you suggest me some keyboard which meets the above criteria ? :)

It arrived. Now I play "folgers instant" as I've swapped out my wife's eMachine membrane keyboard for this one. New keyboard's floorspace is larger but otherwise the layout is the same. Let's watch as she writes her magazine articles, shall we?
-
So, how did you like it?
-
So, how did you like it?
Well, I've been typing on a monoprice "gaming" keyboard with blues for awhile -- substatially similar except the monoprice has more metal holding it in place.
Not a bad keyboard, nothing to write home about -- but the missus -- she noticed within three keystrokes, and called me in to explain what had changed. We spent half an hour talking about the things she could do from this point, to make her keyboard more personalized (keycaps, different switches, why I didn't just buy one of these for myself instead of soldering a teensy and grumbling when it didn't immediately work).
She's keeping it. No cheap blues for me :-| but she can appreciate why I care so much about what I type on, so I'm quite happy to have it.
-
I'm quite happy to have it.
That's all I needed to know :)
-
poopmat and xandr yet to verify if they got their packages.

Everybody has got their keyboards.
Sorry for the delays.
Thank you
